I know the subject of which conversion kit is the best has been covered before in the forum but I don't recall if people have actually discussed competing with them.

I am just starting to compete in Bullseye and am considering a .22 Marvel conversion kit (instead of a dedicated gun).

Was wondering if anyone has had success with the Marvel or any other brand in actual competition.

Seems like an economical way to compete until I'm able to drop the bucks for a Pardini or one of the other "name brands".

The marvel conversion kit is the way to go. Several people in our league have shot well with them.

The unit one conversions by Marvel come with a proof target--one inch or less at 50 yards. My shooting results in over twice that big at half that far, but that is a personal problem! Seriously, the only complaint I ever hear is the lack of a last-shot hold open, due to the slide being made of aluminum. The steel mags are awfully expensive, but the plastic ones work okay for me. It is a very good conversion. Good luck.

There are quite a number of shooters who use the Marvel Unit 1 for bullseye pistol. I have mine on a dedicated frame with a trigger pull lightened to 2 lbs. My mavel units function flawlessly with SV ammo and either Ciener, Kimber or Metalform magazines.

Thanks much. That's all good to hear. I've got a couple of 1911s with nice triggers just sitting around most of the time that could be turned into a marvel shooters. Seems like a no brainer for someone like me if they are as accurate as people say.
