Any suggestions on converting 25 round mags to 7? Or do we register our 15-22s first? I hope we don't need to do this, but it doesn't look good. Sorry for the sarcasm...

That bill hasn't passed yet, and the Republican-controlled (along with five democrats) will take the wind out of Cuomo's sails.

Cuomo keeps saying "for the people", "for the people", yet the entire deal was done in the back room, at night so no one in the audience was present.

Forget the new magazines and just move.

Hopefully a magazine mod won't be necessary

If you're lucky, you might be asked to simply sign a pledge swearing that you'll never load more than 7 rounds in your (now??? future???) illegal 25 rounder.

Regards, Mike

The New York state laws are controlled by conservatives? I wasn't aware. I guess I just assumed that it was under liberal control.

Hey guys,

If you can answer the How-To question on converting that's fine. Otherwise, leave out the 2A lib/cons stuff.

While I imagine it would be similar to the long 10-rounders with a pin, you should probably wait until:
1. It passes, since if it doesn't this will be irrelevant.
2. The specific text of the law is presented so you can be certain that having a pinned magazine that *could* hold more than 7 is even legal.

Basically, while certainly feasible, this issue is premature.

Tacticool22 has a restrictor that takes a 25 round magazine down to 10. Maybe a longer version of something like that could be made.

I just don't know if that would be acceptable since it could be removed and the magazine returned to having a 25 round capacity.

Find a place to drill a hole in the magazine just above where the 10 rounders are pinned. Put a rivet or a small bolt in there. It should be very easy to do and undo. Not too difficult.

Good luck enforcing that.

Just measure down seven slots on the spring and drill, insert pin.

Just to try to clarify the law. A block will not pass the vague laws depending on the cop

"Readily converted" is the key phrase a blind pin covered with epoxy is probably the most legal way.

It's a little too early for that. I can easily modify the mold, but I won't yet.
Call your Reps and let them know how you feel. This is a Representative Republic still, so use the system that is in place.

C'mon, you know we're the most patient bunch.:D

You could just do neither.

I won't tell.

But ANYTHING is readily converted. Last night, in 15 seconds, I unpinned a riveted pmag. 15 seconds. In 2 minutes, I dremeled out the epoxy on a floor plate. 2 minutes. Anything is "Readily converted"... pins, rivets, epoxy, it can all be undone. Even blind pins. All of it. So, what does "Readily converted" mean? Is "Readily" defined as 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 10 minutes of work to convert as I can undo any block you make."Readily" is not defined, it is nebulous. Thus, for me, a mag block and floor plate is GTG as it takes a tool to remove a floorplate and the block blocks more than 10 rounds... That is not "Readily" to me as "Readily" is not defined. I can convert anything back in time.

I was just about to ask if you were going to make some 7 round limiters!!!!

Maybe we should get a head start on the next election and develop some three round mags. Or maybe make our 15-22s into single shot rifles. Sorry again for the sarcasm...
