Cookie addiction is no laughing matter

Grandma’s (the company) used to make an “old time molasses” cookie that was quite good for store bought.

Life is short and it's Pleasure's are few ...

Enjoy your cookies ... but just one Family size bag a week ...

My addiction is ... Ice Cream !

Gary

Me mum used to make scrumptious black treacle cookies and shortbread scones with clotted cream.

I do so miss them.
Yeah, all the holidays Mom used to make brown rims, snickerdoodles, and chocolate chip cookies. Man they were all awesome fresh from the oven. Dad said he put on almost 40 pounds after they got married because Mom kept a sourdough starter in the fridge and made him cinnamon rolls every day.

As a chocolate chip cookie lover, I have long contended that they are more nutritious than people think. If others criticize you for eating them, remind those critics that chocolate chip cookies contain many ingredients of your basic food groups:
Wheat flour provides your grains.
Milk as part of the dough and in the chocolate chips provides your dairy.
Sugar provides your energy.
Chocolate, being sourced from beans, provides your vegetables.

So there you have it, a meal that is delicious, balanced, compact, and portable.
It's Nature's Perfect Food! ;)

So I’ll let you in on a secret when you need a hot chocolate chip cookie fix and you don’t want to make them yourself.

Try the McDonalds baker’s dozen pack. It’s about $6 but if you use the app you can often get 20% off $10 order or more. Get a couple of ice cream cones to bring your order up to $10 and have at it. The McDs by my kids house even does vanilla and chocolate swirl cones.

Give Walmart's Great Value Chunky Chippers a try also. Not as many as family size but they are really good and addicting also. I like them better than the Chips Ahoy.

Kroger sells their own brand copy of Chips Ahoy with "chunks" instead of bits. They're about 1/3 less expensive which means more cookies per dollar for ME. A package of those might last me two days if I'm not feeling up to par. Ginger Snaps are another favorite. I've been addicted to Maple flavor anything since I was a kid. Stuckey's sold maple flavor candy and they had 5,000 stores on Rt.66 on the way to Granma's farm in the Ozarks. I found a Bakery nearby that sells Maple frosted donuts. So many calories, so little time.

Maple - yum.

I sure miss those old Brach's Maple Nut Goodies, and the only fudge I'll eat is maple pecan.

Best Chocolate chip recipe I've found. And the family attacks them as fast as I can bake them.

It seems nearly every website I visit has an annoying pop-up asking me for my "cookie preferences"... but no option for "soft molasses ginger" or "double chocolate chip", both of which should be included along with "strictly necessary only."

ginger snaps (hard) and homemade molasses/ginger (soft) are definitely all time faves. simply don't have the teeth anymore for

Springerle's .

Springerle cookies were my favorite when younger and had better teeth. My grandmother was the only source, and had never heard anything about them elsewhere.

My Grandma made scratch biscuits for breakfast every morning. She'd take the leftover biscuits, cut them in half, put on butter and sugar, then stick them back in the oven until they had a light crunch. Those were the cookies for us grandkids. We loved 'em!
