Ordered the Poly Forward Set kit on Tuesday direct from Apex, and got it delivered this afternoon. One hour later, its in.

Not having to remove the rear sight made this a fast mod. A 1.3mm hex wrench did the trick under the optic mount cover to change the plunger and spring.

Had a pucker moment when assembled. With the trigger pulled all the way back, the sear was not moving enough to fire.

Ended up tweaking the trigger bar sear loop (or whatever its called), and now its just right. Note that if the gap is too big, the trigger won't reset after firing.

Left the factory trigger return spring in, as this provided the lightest pull.

Although the travel is far shorter, its not like my 1911PC Bobtail. It would need to sit further forward from the grip for that. However, the pull is crisp and just a little heavier than the Bobtail.

Hope to fire it on the weekend.

Range Report: Instead of low and to the right, now I can hit pretty well in the center. Trigger actually took me by surprise at first, due to the short/quick release.

Fired it with and without the JPoint. Seems I do a bit better without the JPoint for now.

10 rds, 21 ft, standing, no JPoint.

That is a beautiful setup. The CORE is certainly on my list... already running the polymer FSS in my standard 9!

How would you compare the CORE to the standard for high speed IPSIC type shooting?
