To make a long story short, I swapped slides/barrels with another guy. We both have CORES, but he wanted a 4.25" and I wanted a 5". Essentially, I just converted my 9 to a 9L. I had purchased mine used and never removed the top cover. Well, when he got home, he removed the cover and discovered that the striker block retaining plate was missing, along with the screw. Kinda works out in my favor, because my slide had an Apex USB in it I had forgotten about. Wanting to do the right thing, I told him I'd bring him the plate, screw, and his original striker block. Keep in mind that I had run a box of ammo through that upper assembly without a single hiccup.
My question is this: can I get that little plate and screw from S&W? I plan to call them Monday, but just wondered if anyone else had tried to source one. I'd also appreciate it if someone can provide me a part # so I can be specific when I call.
