I love corn on the cob, and for such a simple food people sure have a number of ways to cook them.

Boil in water

Wrap in foil and toss in the campfire

Wrap in foil and put on the grill

Put them naked on the grill

Wrap in plastic wrap and cook in the microwave

Some people like to soak them in water for a period of time before cooking

What is your method?

Butter, salt and pepper on your corn on the cob?

And, come on admit it, how many of you cut the corn off the cob with knife before eating it?

Even though corn has very little nutritional value, I absolutely love it. I prefer it slathered in butter, wrapped in aluminum foil and cooked on the grill.

When I was a teenager in wisconsin I worked several summers for green giant cannery. For our own eating we kept a steam hose in a burlap bag full of unhusked corn right from the field. Just grab one every time we felt like it. Between jobs like that and being brought up in a old country general store, no wonder I am three spins on the scales!

Olive oil, salt, pepper and grill it.

You can then pretend that it's health food!

I do a deal where I grill it, cut it off the cob, add some chopped red onion, cilantro, salt, pepper, olive oil and a little red wine vinegar.

Makes a great side.

It also makes a great main course over baby greens salad with grilled shrimp on top.

I boil the corn until nearly done, remove and place on a largr sheet of foil, wrap the corn in three strips of bacon, add onions, peppers, potatoes, cornmeal breaded okra, butter/water. Wrap and oven cook @350 for about 45 minutes. A heart attack waiting to happen, but God, it's good.

I like the leftovers...Cut it off the cob, freeze it in a ziplock, warm it with a little salt and butter when you don't feel like makin the cobs...AWESOME

What vegetable do you throw away the outside, cook the inside, eat the outside and throw away the inside?

Corn, of course...

I lay out a piece of foil, lay three pats of butter on it, add corn, salt and pepper, wrap and then grill.

However, my 81 year old mom cuts it off the cob and makes creamed corn. It is by far the best creamed corn.

Sir, I just throw it on a medium-hot grill, husk and all. Give each ear a quarter turn every 5 minutes, 20 minutes total. Peel the husk to use as a handle, then salt and butter to taste.

No fuss, no muss, no wasting "hat" tinfoil.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

We throw them in a sink full of water for about 30 minutes prior to cooking, husk and all. Then, put them straight on the grill as soon as they come out of the water. I usually keep them off the heat and just let them steam while everything else is cooking. Then, when it's time to eat just peel back the husks and the strings come right off. Then I butter mine.

Boil for about 5 minutes, let sit in the hot water for another 5 minutes. A little salt, REAL BUTTER, and lots of pepper.

A buddy of mine out me onto this one.

When putting corn up in the freezer, fresh out of the field, leave it in the husks. When you go to prepare it to eatat a later date, heat it in milk on he stove. Tastes like it just came out of the garden. Mmmm Mmmm good.

Put the husked ears on the grill, cook till there is a lot of black. Butter and hot sauce, eat.

No better way in the world!!! Had some last night, and will grill more this weekend.

Boil them then salt and pepper and real butter.
A black guy at work said to cut it off the cob then fry it.
It's pretty good that way too.
But eating it off the cob can't be beat!
