coronavirus

Not just the old. Sketchy details so far. On Friday they admitted a severely ill 36 year old woman to the university med center's bio containment unit here with Covid-19. She picked it up in England. Came back home when she wasn't feeling well. Spent 11 or 12 days at home recuperating, then crashed. Sounds like one of her issues is she developed a secondary bacterial lung infection while fighting off Corona.

Hah..to all those people that have made fun of my obsessive compulsive germaphobe ways.

I never understood why people though "Monk" was funny. He and I were just way ahead of the curve. You just can't be too careful.

I already have a stock pile of wipes, hand sanitizer and Lysol spray. I use them often through out the day.

I've avoided shaking hands and hugging for years. Eww unless I really am comfortable with you it is just a way to get some little bug and die. I can feel the little buggy germs creeping up my arms coming to kill me. Seeing you sneeze or cough and I'm holding my breath and clearing the area.

Good to know I was always right.

All ya all are going to die unless you adopt my quirky life style because...

Thanks for providing this information which I've passed on to all my relatives and friends.

We're trying to devise the best method to avoid the "Coronavirus": Should we put up signs stating "Coronavirus Quarantine Area"? Or, "Coronavirus Free Zone".....which has been sooooo effective with firearms? memtb

Most of this is being blown way out of proportion. While COVID-19 is serious, it's not the black plague.

From 1 Oct 2019 to 1 Feb 2020 there were over 12,000 deaths in the US from the flu. As of yesterday, there were 16 deaths from COVID-19. World wide there have been about 93,000 cases and of those 50,000 have already recovered.

Seriously folks, the common flu is far more virulent and deadly. There is no need to panic. We should be smart, but we should be doing that on a daily basis anyway.

In my opinion, this is an excellent presentation on Covid-19 by Dr. Amesh Adalja, Johns Hopkins Senior Scholar, Tepper Alumnus.

He discusses earlier corona viruses and Covid-19. He descrives how they spread, and that they're more common than many of us realize. He's a fast talker, but the video is filled with some good information.

Great info - thanks. The news here in St Louis area just announced (743pm Mar 7) the first confirmed case in Missouri. A young woman who had recently returned from studying in Italy. Her family is quarantined at home but who knows how many people she/they have made contact with.

If NBC CBS ABC CNN every other media outlet would dial back the doomsday rhetoric and maybe actually report the FACTS and the general public would stop acting like a bunch of sheeple following the script and actually think then maybe all this overinflated bovine excrement would stop smelling like what it is.

I'm 73 and have respatory broblems. copd, asbestosis just to name a few. People say we should not go out and purchase the masks. I wear my masks to protect myself from those who do not know they have the virus and practice no personal hygene when they are sick. Vice President Prence said we should not wear masks and save them for the health care workers who may be tending very important people. To which I say bull feathers. my life and the lives of those around me are very important to me. So I will wear my masks as it protects me from people who may not have or may have this virus. I have a 2 year old grandson and at some times he can be a handfull. I enjoy my time with him. He is the only grandson in our family. Frank.
