Correct screw for new K Frame Grips

I just received a new set of S&W Factory Grips for K, L-Frame for my Model 14 which had some bulky presentation grips. (from Midway)

The screw with the old grips is too long and no screw came with the new ones. My search skills were not good enough to identify the right screw or the best ordering source.

I'd appreciate any info on the correct screw and best way to order?

If those are "new" Factory stocks, I'd call S&W. They will probably send you one for free

Grip Screw

You may wish to send this request to [email protected] he has furnished some for me in the past. You cannot loose anything but time by inquiring but if S&W will furnish you a screw for nothing, that is the way to go.

Which I could help you better but I have never seen that style grip before. If they are new factory grips, just describe them to them (S&W Service) and/or provide same picture reference to them via email.

smitholdtimer has referenced Philip for screws and he is a great member. I have bought many from him also, but they are the 70's - 90's style screws when S&W were making their own grips in-house.
They will not work on the aftermarket (outsourced) grip that you have pictured.

Another happy ending...

Called S&W parts this morning and they're mailing out the appropriate screw for the grips. (no charge... thanks S&W!)

I told him that I ordered the S&W part #164000000 from Midway. He said that they don't manufacture these grips, but they do send out the screw with the grips when ordered from them.
