Couldn't take one more night in an empty house...

Yep, he will provide you with love and affection and a reason to buy a new shovel, yard rakes, top soil, hefty garbage bags etc. You think that is a puppy but its not. Its a LAB puppy! AKA "weapon of mass destruction!"

I like it-Max's puppy pictures bear a striking resemblance to Cajuns' Colonel Angus; aka Augus; aka $&^#head :D Be careful that little puppy is going to grow to about 90 pounds of pure adventure :)

aawwwww Max is a terrific looking pup! He may not completely fill the hole in your heart but he will help make it hurt a lot less and make you smile a whole lot more! :)

Awwwwww... PUPPY! :D

We said goodbye to our mutt Shovelhead in July of '04. I still grieve for him. He will never be replaced. Rather, other dogs will make their own places in our hearts.

Hope you & your new pal have many happy years together.

I'm glad "Max" adopted you. A good Labrador is a fine dog indeed. Me and girl pal Jesse often reflect about the good times while setting around the fire.

Nuthin' like a new pup to kick the energy level of the household up a notch or two!

He looks like a keeper Mike. I hope he helps fill in the hole in your heart just a little.

Congratulation; You have a fine friend there. I see no problem with sacrificing the slipper for a friend. When I got my golden, she got 6 pairs of flip flops; she finely she went back to bones and American processed rawhide. She is a gem she has filled the hole form the lose of my other golden. She is my constant companion.

Gotta love that face!! I know that Max will never replace your little girl but that isn't his job. He is gonna be a great dog and a wonderful friend and companion. (He'll get over the shoe thing soon enough). You will grow to love him for his own personality and nature. Humans are blessed with an unlimited capacity to love. Grief is the price we pay for that but it also allows us to go on and have the experience again and again...

You made the right decision and I'm happy for you. You got a great looking new little friend, congratulations!!

True, and worth every penny spent!

If we didn't have a 25-pound limit on dogs in my apartment complex--and realistically, if I weren't nearly 76 and half crippled--I would have me a Lab. They're wonderful dogs. Like beagles, I never met one that didn't have a lively sense of humor.

This can be a challenge, of course. :D:D

He's a beauty Mike! I expect we'll be seeing photos of the BIG guy in no time!

For Pace40 and all other dog lovers here...If it didn't hurt when we lost our faithful companion, then we wouldn't have cared.

The pain of a loss will subside, but the good memories of one we loved will go on forever. (Sometimes, I think the good Lord meant it to be that way)

So to sort of move around the words a bit....."It is not good for man to live alone"...Man was meant to have a good dog beside him.

Best wishes Pace, for you and your new companion, Max.

Great lookin' pup! Congrats!

I have grieved far more over dogs I have lost than over many relatives.

Feelin' all warm and fuzzy inside at the moment...and I haven't even had my first Mojito of the day yet.

We recently went through the same thing losing our Aussie "Link", and about 2 months later gaining our Newfoundland/Poodle "Teddy" my condolences, but also congrats! Pour yourself into this dog and you'll soon see that you'll feel the same that you once did...
