This one went to Coyote heaven the day after this pic was taken.

Wow.

I've often thought about what I would do if me or my dog got attacked on a walk. I alway figured I'd go for the throat.
I walk/bikeride often on the greenway which runs along the Neuse River in NC. I am prepared for two or four legged predators, though other than deer, squirrels, or snakes, have not encountered any.
Saw a few deer just today in the overgrown brush just off the path.

Death by strangulation. Man 1 coyote 0

years ago I had a German Shepard that really wanted a piece of me. When he lunged and opened wide I shoved my fist in as far as I could, then grabbed him and held him tight while he choked and gagged. After he went limp, I let him go. When he got his 2nd wind he disappeared as quick as he arrived. I think he learned the error of his ways.....

A lady in the foothills of Albuquerque let her cocker spaniel out to do his biz.
She heard a loud ruckus and went outside to investigate.
Her dog and a Yote were in a death struggle.
She grabbed her dog and ran back inside.
After she calmed down, she started thinking, what the Hell did I just do?

That is really wrong behavior for a 'yotee'. Somethings up; I say rabies 'til proven otherwise. The carcass did not look like the animal was starving or anything like that. This man trusted his instincts "knew something was looking at me." Always trust your gut - applies to women also.
