OK, before I get into this a little background. I am thinking about something VERY concealable, not a fast draw design, that can be worn by a normal sized guy comfortably. This thought comes from living in a state that is quite anti gun (maryland) but having a permit.

A Middle of the back, IWB holster that is tuckable. The barrel points down, the grip bottom faces the strong hand side. Drawing would be knuckles on back palm out.

-I know some will say "but your gonna sweep everyone", but I think with some practice a draw could be barrel down until you address a target.
-The next will be "having something like that on your spine is bad" but I feel like just carrying would have enough other risks to take the chance. (Besides I have a bad disk already )

Anyone make one of these monsters? Thoughts?

I'm sure someone out there would make it for you, have you ever tried carrying a gun in the small of your back? I tried it when I first got my carry license, found out real quick that unless you stand all day and walk where ever you go it wont be comfortable. It will also print very bad if you bend over, much more than any other way of carrying.

I find that IWB strong side conceals very well, if I were to need something that concealed ever more than that pocket carry of and airweight j-frame would be my choice.

haha. I carried my BHP tonight in its small of the back rig. Now I realize why I don't use that carry style at all. Uncomfortable.

High Noon, in Florida, already makes one, it fits anywheres around the body that you wish to wear it.

Try a Milt Sparks Summer Special.

I even use one for a 4" S&W 44 Mag.

Just buy your pants 2 " bigger in the waist for best comfort.

Not sure what your lifestyle is like, but several plainclothes officers are in wheelchairs now for falling and landing on their back while carrying in the small of the back. Such an accidental fall will snap your spine.

Carrying in the back like that makes the gun easier to print as well. If your state does not all printing, forget your current idea.

Sitting is very uncomfortable in a hard back chair when carrying like that.

Then we have the draw. None of us are Billy the Kid when it comes to fast draw but time yourself using that mode of carry. It will be almost three times slower. The range of motion is longer, the reach angle is not normal and with any type back problems, you will be in pain more.

I suggest you give up carrying like that. It might look snappy in the movies but it does not work well in real life.

Just for fun, try defending yourself and your gun starting with your gun hand in a "hammer lock" position.

Many custom holster makers will refuse to make a SOB for you.

This is why I have you guys, to help me with late night crazy thoughts when surfing the web.

Didnt think much about the printing, good points. I actually have an SOB Galco that I wore once..............once.

My CCW is a 3913, seems a bit big for pocket carry?

I find it the grip is the hardest thing to conceal, of course lossing a few pounds would help :-)
