Hey don't knock Taco Bell. Glen Bell was a WW II Marine vet who served in the Pacific before running a hot dog stand in Southern California. He'd never even been to Mexico when he decided tacos were a better bet; the rest is history

Florence's surface winds were never anywhere near what they've been telling us. The winds they told us must have been at altitude. Every surface report I have read has had wind speeds well below hurricane strength, even out to sea on the NOAA buoys.

Other than rain and flooding, this storm was pure media hype. You might even call it fake news, since they lied about the winds...

It wouldn't have been so funny to everyone had it hit mainland as a three or even a 2. If they had issued a forecast for a one and had it come in as a three they would be lousy jerks as would the news for not covering it. Sure it was a little overdone as far as the news but TV Channels can be changed.
There a lot of people with damage to everything that they own.
