Yahoo News this afternoon released an AP excerpt of an article from The Hill magazine showing two FBI photos of Crook's rifle used in the Butler assasination attempt. The first photo shows the rifle with clear damage to the stock consistent with the local LEO having hit it with his quick shot. The second photo shows the rifle broken down into its two major components to illustrate how he probably snuck it in inside the backpack also shown. I keep thinking about the fact the second photo of the rifle shows no damage to the stock assembly. Can't understand that. Seems strange. Take down of the rifle would not have been hindered by the damage to the stock. Lower receiver shows FBI evidence markings in both photos. Why put on a different stock for the second photo? Just to be able to collapse it? Why bother? The lower with extended stock is still much shorter than the upper. Why give the appearance of tampering with the evidence?
