How on God's Green Earth could a guy with a haircut like Mark Harmon's on NCIS suddenly rate getting Jeri Ryan (Seven-of-Nine) to play -- even on just an acting level -- his ex-wife? I just don't believe it. Of course, I don't actually watch NCIS, so this isn't a qualified opinion, it's more qualified jealousy. (They don't do any of the CSI stuff down here unless the spotlight of the Media has focused on a crime and even then they'll botch it up. If you can get 10-feet away from whatever happened and look unconcerned, you'll probably be fine. This is good or bad depending on whether you are the shooter or the shootee.) My wife does watch NCIS, and everytime I walk into the room to catch her at it, I always make the comment that Mark Harmon's haircut doesn't convince me. I tell her it must me a toupe. Drives her bonkers.

Jeri Ryan, beautiful as she is, was not the Star Trek character/actress I would most like to have been stranded on a fully-stocked desert island with. My favorite was always T'Pol from Star Trek Enterprise played by actess Jolene Blalock. But it just galls me that someone with an unconvincing haircut like Mark Harmon's (because I don't watch the series and don't know anything else about him I might be critical about) ends up even with my runner-up as his supposed ex. Why him? Why not me? Except that my wife would shoot me, of course, and then get herself about 10-feet away and deny she ever did it. *Sigh*

There, that's my first rant in all my time on this forum. I hope you, as I do, feel the true pain of this. He is not worthy. In my jealous opinion.

Jeri Ryan as Seven-of-Nine. Wins all the geek "Star Trek girl I want to be standed on Orion's 3rd moon with" contests.

Jolen Blalock as T'Pol. Before I got married, she was the "Star Trek girl I wanted to be stranded on Orion's 3rd moon with. Dressed here in a "Kirk-era" uniform on a Kirk-era bridge set.

In all due respect Cal, I don't think either of them are very pretty, both have Plain Jane faces with big lips, but pretty not. JMNSHO

I would not kick either of them out for eating crackers in bed [emoji4]
Looking at old family photos,I'd say Marks haircut was quite stylish in the 30s-40s
He needs a younger barber lol

Well, perhaps I can assuage your feelings of angst about old Mark. He is the son of the semi-famous sportscaster Tom Harmon.

The elder Harmon was a Heisman Trophy winner, and Mark was a major college quarterback.( Granted, it was in "CALI' but never the less......

He has a twin sister, (I think twin ?) who married Ricky Nelson of Ozzy and Harriet TV fame, and,...I DO realize Mark being the brother-in-law of Ricky might make you like Mark even less. Ricky r e a l l y had some hair.

Now here is where you,(maybe), begin to feel a little better about Mark, (and his haircut). His idol was Jack Webb of Dragnet, and Jack Webb convinced him to try a few acting roles, they remained close till Webb passed on.

Man, I hate to defend another male, somehow it makes me feel all... well you know.....

Anyway, I learned, (and earned) a tid-bit of "come-uppance" once from

one of my young sons. I was harsh in my critique of one of his rock and

roll favorites, or boxer or baseball players or......anyway, after a

particularly viral rant about one of the above types, my little boy of

about 8 or 9 said, "Dad, if they are so bad in your opinion, how come

you know them, but they don't know you?"

Overcoming my first impulse to conk him one, I instead just took it as the fact it is.

Since you don't watch NCIS, I suspect that your not aware that Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is an ex-Marine that haircut is/was a standard haircut for the Corps, as well as the Army.

In my 22 years in Army Green, I saw a number of extremely gorgeous women married to ugly military guys, (must be the hidden talents). Much better looking that shown, I believe. So, to my way of thinking, ya, it is very conceivable to him to have married either of these women.

Cal, it must be as dull in SMde A as it isn't here in La Paz.:D

Most any of the novella chicks look hotter than the treklets, anyways. Maybe I should've paid closer attention.
Haircuts? I have no idea....

I am going into my low season for Ice Cream sales, from now until December 26 it's not really much of a business. Only 2 years out of the last 20 did not dip down badly during November/December -- and of course, in December we have to pay those Christmas Bonuses of 3 weeks wages to each employee. That always hurts.

So yes, I'm twiddling my thumbs these days, waiting to just grind through the next 7 weeks. But so far (knock on wood) sales are up and the tempuratures are quite endurable. Maybe this will be one of the good years? Let me know on that address when you have it!

Calmex, you must be related to my late wife. She also could not get past a hairdo she didn't like, either on the news or fiction. She thought I was weird because I could not care if the newsreader had combed their hair that day or not, I just sought information. I was usually disappointed on that front, too, but that's another topic.

Throw me on any planet with either one of them( or both) and I will be a happy earthling.

Yeah, you're right Dougb, after seeing that I dont want anything to do with either one of them. Yeah, right

The haircut isn't flattering on a man his age, no matter what the back story. I'll grant you that. But Harmon is a very capable actor. His portrayal of Ted Bundy in a made-for-the-tube movie chilled me to the bone, like Tommy Lee Jones as Gary Gilmore in "Executioner's Song". I liked watching him work with Connery in "The Presidio", too.
