Been bored the last few days keeping an eye on the dog after her surgery (she got "fixed") so I've been playing with my iPhone5 and taking pictures at my desk. Ya know... these phones can take some decent pics.

Good photos are in focus, have a depth of field so all parts of the item in the photo in focus, enough horizontal and vertical pixel count to show the items detail and be taken in good lighting with little or no shadows.

Take photos with your phone set to it's maximum resolution and then email them to yourself.

On a Windows PC right click on the image file and choose edit>resize>pixels.

The number of pixels is up to you but I normally downsize the large 4000x3000 image to 1200x800 and crop if needed before uploading to my post using the Advanced setting/Manage Attachments

Phil. You really, really need to resize your pictures.

And what's a Phil photo session without the suppressed 22 pistol??:D;)

I'm working on it! Suppressor pics coming up soon. :D

Tell me what's up... my pics don't look any different in size to me than others who post from imgur and other photo hosting sights. Are mine messed up?

I have found the people who post "Please excuse the crummy cell phone pics" probably couldn't take a decent picture with a $2,000 camera either. That's not to knock people who can't take good pictures, only that they are too lazy to learn how or too lazy to find a 10 year old to do it for them. :p:p:p

I fall into this category, but got a decent picture of some funky spider I saw the other day.

One thing I learned while playing around with this stuff is that there's an easy touchup option. Take out lint and flaws and whatever all else. Notice there is no turn line... I wonder how many guys buy used guns that look better on the Net than true condition.

OK: giant thread diversion here! I just yesterday took delivery of a S&W Model 25, 125th anniversary edition. From the pictures and description on GB, I bought it with the intent of it becoming a shooter. When I took it from the box, I quickly decided there was no way I was going shoot this thing. It is beautiful and the only flaws I can find look like they came from the factory. Too boot, only one cylinder was dirty, so I'm positive it has never been shot since it came from the factory. Rest assured, I have been the recipient of guns that were 'over represented' before, but this one was "under represented" and a pleasant surprise. Except now I have to look for another shooter. :p

Thread diversion over!

Your pics look great!
My size rule is- if the Site wil take them, they ain't too big.
Bigger is better!
I generally use the iPad, like right now.
I use Photogene⁴ to edit, crop, resize, etc.
And I do email them to myself, just like already mentioned.
Like Grandson Flag Football Champ, iPhone 5S.

The pictures look great and are in frame when viewing the whole thread,

When go to post a reply (at least for me), it blows up the whole screen and I need to use the left/right slider to even find the reply to thread box.

IIR In the past this was due to huge pictures?. I do not know if it is dimensions or number of pixels. or one in the same,

I use a resize gadget for Windows to resize pics (or I used to still have not replaced PhotoBucket).

Is Imgur free? Can you keep your photos private like PB was??

Yes, its free. Settings for public or hidden.

If the pics are blowing up when you quote them, why are you quoting the pics? We've done seen them already. :D

I'll ask 45Wheelgun why they're blowing up.
