Does anyone know of a current source for replacement barrels for a CS40?

Thanks and hope everyone has a good Memorial Day weekend in memory of those that gave all.

That's a tough part to find, can't say I've ever seen one for sale on the used market. Possibly S&W has one if you call them (1-800-331-0852 ext. 4125). Otherwise keep your eyes peeled for a used CS40 parts kit on the auction sites.

I'd think that Bar-Sto or one of the other upper tier barrel makers would be the more likely sources.

Contacted S&W and, as predicted, they are not publically selling CS 40 barrels.

Waiting on an email response from Bar-Sto

I'd be interested in hearing about the loss or failure of the original barrel that has you in search of a replacement?

Quite the opposite, I purchased (Gunbroker) a CS40 with the intent of a 10mm conversion. The exterior showed evidence of spending a long period of time in a leather holster and I assumed the gun had a good deal of use in general. What I found when I received it was that the gun is in nearly unfired condition.

I'd rather keep the low round count original barrel for future posterity, if possible.

I'm always watching for a CS40 barrel to do a 10 conversion. If I ever procure a barrel THEN I'll get a CS40. The one aspect I don't know about is 'hoods'. For the 4013,14,53,54 conversions, there are slides and barrels with narrow hoods and wide hoods. Does anyone know if the CS40s' came in both varieties.

Technically, if every Tom, Dick & Harry are making 1911 Barrels,
shouldn't be all that hard to get one of 'em to get 100% of the S&W market...
Because 100% of 30 million 3rd Gen pistols could end up paying off quite well...
as opposed to 0.4% of 100 million 1911's ;)

Lone Wolf is making Billions just off Glocks...
Maybe some enterprising machinist will be the next Millionaire??
After all, ain't THAT hard to make a good barrel, as shadetree smiths are proving
in Afganistan right now with nothing more than Hand Tools.
