The CS series mag catches are not fit with a threaded release similar to the other third generation guns, but instead have a non threaded button which snaps down over the stem end of the release catch. The spring is captured inside the assembly under the button. The parts are plastic.
Midway has a few of the assorted parts, including the button and spring. I cannot find the catch, and I do not have a schematic for the CS series.
You may be able to modify a catch from another third generation pistol to function with the CS frame, although I've not done this before.

I had a Mod 410 that had the same cheap plastic parts, which of course came apart. I replaced the complete mag catch from another 3rd gen that used the screw on button, it works fine !
Hello, reliable!
The CS9 uses the plastic, snap on magazine catch nut (S&W p/n: 239090000) and steel, magazine catch "tornado" spring (S&W p/n: 239010000).
If your magazine catch (S&W p/n: 262590000) is not damaged, it can be reused.
There have been some reports of S&W trying out a plastic version of the magazine catch, but only on the very earliest releases of the "Value Line" model 910.
It's not hard to imagine that such a thing would be a poor idea (think of a thin, hardened steel edge of a magazine body being secured by a softer plastic catch

) but I have no knowledge or experience of the plastic catch being used on any of the CS models, which all use the same style catch.
ALL of the "snap on" style mag catches I have encountered were steel.
S&W considers the plastic mag catch button to be a "single use" item, which is to say, it is not reusable once it's been removed.
Source an original nut and spring, snap it on, and it should last a long, long time.
If you have plans to remove it at some point in the future, buy a spare.
A threaded mag catch and nut (adjustable) from any of the 39xx series single stack 9mm pistols can be used, but the snap on mag button pistols lack the frame machining for the spring loaded plunger to engage with the grooved mag catch nut supplied with that style, so there is the potential for the nut to unscrew during use.
However, it can be used by combining the "tornado" spring from the snap on style with the threaded catch and nut from the adjustable models, but you must first find your preferred nut adjustment and then carefully apply a drop of wicking thread locker.
I have done this, but only temporarily, while awaiting a replacement plastic nut that had been removed.
I have never experience a failure of the plastic nut system, but if I did, I would install a new nut and forget about it.
