Local shop is running this offer this week. Never even considered one of these, but maybe I should. Is this a good deal?

That's a good price on the pistol alone. The other stuff just adds a little extra value. I've now got 2 with close to 700rds through the 2 combined (not alot yet but I'm working on it) and so far not a single gun related malfunction. My triggers are still a little heavy but they are still smoothing out nicely. The CSX has taken over my EDC duties from my long time favorite Springfield Micro 1911 45acp.

Before buying ANY micro pocket or CCW gun, you owe it to yourself to rent, borrow or try a bunch of similar sized and similar guns to see if you like them, shoot them and can carry them well.

This will avoid disappointment and could avoid the hassle of selling a gun. I am NOT trying to talk you out of this model gun (or any for that matter), but never buy a gun because of the price, a free Range bag, holster or rebate. Shoot it and other competitive models to see how you like it and shoot it compared to others. Your life could depend on it.

chief38 is correct. Are you familiar with shooting a small single action auto? If you are not, some people love their manual of arms, others don't feel good about the cocked and locked carry. I don't know where in FL, you are but see if you can locate a gun range that rents this or a similar model. Almost all around here have a similar type but not a CSX. I like cocked and locked but have not found a CSX to try out yet.

I carry a Colt Pony DAO in 380 most of the time. I thought about going to the 9mm. I have read good things about the CSX, but have not shot one yet. Obviously, the price caught my eye, it seems to be lower than most for the gun alone.

Love to try one myself! Construction looks good and the metal frame the right way to go.

I do wish that takedown of this model didn't require a punch or other tool. I'm looking forward to trying one of these out at a range sooner than later though. I'm a sucker for a metal frame.

Don't let the take down worry you. After taking both of mine down a couple times the slide stop pin can now be pushed out fairly easily with just the tip of a ball point pen or the end of a handcuff key. I do wish they had put witness marks on the right side of the slide to make getting everything lined up easier.
