Culina grips turnaround time

Just wondering how long you guys have waited to get your grips? I sent them wood the beginning of September, messaged them in November and they hadn't started them yet, even though I asked about the timeframe they didn't reply to that.

They are pretty quick on Facebook messenger...like minutes usually. Try them there. I think they do grip types in batches, and rotate the batches. No idea when they do which grip types. I suspect only they can answer that.

I'm on the hook for about 8 weeks my self, mind you their town just went threw the fires out west... I think the came out un scaved I'm sure it all plays together....

I'll second the FB messenger, thats how I communicate with them...

They had a lot of problems with the west coast fires recently and had to evacuate for a while IIRC. Mine have ranged from "got them in stock" to several months because of the need to work with American holly only in the winter.

It also depends on the type of wood as John and Jennifer do them in batches. Different woods require different finishing techniques.
So; please keep in mind a need to:
Wait until he's processing type of grips (Target, Magna, Combat, Frame size) from the raw board
Wait until he is fitting / finishing the type of grips and / or type of wood.
Drying / finishing times.

They will be worth waiting for.

They did mine in about 8 weeks, I chose from a in stock wood. Jennifer was amazing to deal with and very helpful.

Not getting a response from Jennifer is rather uncharacteristic. I have waited 2 weeks to two months. Depends on what they are working on, what you want, and wood availability

I totally agree with "sceva" above...I have been dealing with Culinas for several years...I had sent them a "chunk" of Ohio walnut wood November 2019....I just received the 3 sets of N RB Combat grips yesterday...they are superb in quality...it was worth the wait...for good measure I also purchased a rare set of black and white ebony N RB combats that I had been wanting for years...they are exhibition grade and are exquisite...I agree with the post above (Narragansett) that it is very uncharacteristic of Jennifer not to respond to your questions in a timely manner...my communication with Culinas has been very professional and timely...I guess the bottom line on all this is "good things come to those that wait."...Roger

Roger emailed me pictures of his new Culina grips and I am posting them for him. He said:

"The 3 darker sets are from a chunk of Ohio black walnut I sent to Culinas back in Nov 2019...they turned out fantastic almost look like ebony...well worth the wait...the black and white ebony are exhibition grade...I had wanted a set for a long time and Culinas came up with a very small amount of the wood...they are superb...all of these will eventually be going on some of my 29 3" and 629 2 1/2" and 3" revolvers...I am severely addicted to 3" RB N frames...Roger"

I think they look fantastic indeed, Roger! It is really cool that they can make grips out of "your" wood!

Culina Grips Turnaround Time

Ordering a new set of Round Butt Combat grips for my K frame. Just receive an email from Jennifer last night stating that my grips would take 5-9 weeks. She also thought that it would be closer to 5 weeks. Also mention that prices would be going up next year $10. They will be finishing the pair on the left for for me.
