Current Gun Shows - Your Experience?

Went to a show this weekend and it was awesome!

There was a ton of stuff that was available, which probably had not seen daylight in who knows how long. There were even a few higher-end Smiths floating around...3" 629 factory engraved with presentation case #3 of 100 I believe.

Talked to another Smith collector at the show and he had a lot of luck too...so there was more than I was even coming across. I did very well.

Had to be patient, I saw prices on Model 14's as an example range from $650.00 to $1,700.00 (included box, accessories).

A lot of people selling, a lot of people buying. Interesting to note that at the same show, about 4 months ago, it was a completely different experience. This same show had a TON of stuff walking in through the door and prices were fair, surprisingly, on most. (motivated sellers)

It reminded me of shows from back around 2008, 2009 era. Lots of laughs, lots of jokes, and just a fun overall day.:)

Local show was five miles from home. I'd go to each one to kill some time and buy cheap ammo. Sometimes see a part or real heavy duty military bag I'd buy. Then Covid hit and the show never came back.

The "Nation's Gun Show" in Dulles is HUGE. I go maybe once a year. I don't mind the knife sellers but why is everything made in China from used soup cans? Yes there is wood and steel guns for sale, at prices way beyond what's reasonable.

I go to look, haven't bought anything in years because of the unrealistic markups.

I gave up on gun shows years ago. I had to drive to a meeting in a Idaho town with a gun show. Since I was there, I decided to go into the guns show. I bought so much stuff at great prices, I'll be attending gun shows in my area again.
