Have a model 410 that the grip cracked on. It has the dimple, so appears to have been the replacement grip (not recall). However, I wonder if someone dimpled one that was the bad plastic. Anyway, sent S&W a warranty request and they asked for a picture of it. Sent them pics and they sent me a replacement grip. It did take 2-3 weeks to receive it, but they did send one for a gun that has been out of production for 20 years. 100% free. The old grip crumbled when I took it off. They shipped it in a box about 10x too big for the grip.

wow that's awesome dude - I can't believe they still have those on hand! I bought (8) NOS third gen grips in various sizes from A guy in Colorado for about $30 each. Was lucky enough to get a grey set from him for my 3913 / 908. I wonder how many they have left?

I just had the opposite experience, called for a price on a bodyguard .380 magazine ,
(I had called last month and was quoted $10 and said ok lemme call back need a few other items).
Called yesterday she says $12, ok np they went up give me two and a $15 rear sight blade kit .. your toal is $25, I say no that's not right, she says the computer applied a discount ...
I say oh wow...we go through the whole billing shipping info dance even though I have bought stuff before and recently,

We hang up I think uh oh she didn't ask for my email or give me a confirmation number.
Called back today....yep you guessed it, sorry sir no record of your order, I checked Discover nothing billed!
Luckily I had wrote the girl theres name down and we had alit of small talk so she shoukd remember me, new girl says she's right here will put u on hold and ask her,
after 20 min she comes back....
She doesn't remember you.
Ok let's redo the order,
Ok but price now is $20 for each magazine , I asked for a courtesy discount for their foul ups and wasting my time. Sorry no can do.

I should have asked for a supervisor and complained but just hung up.
That's pretty poor customer service.
Btw they do not email confirmation numbers or give tracking info so you order and cross your fingers.
They also don't pull up your profile if you ordered before but she had my phone number in the system so alot of time is wasted giving your mailing and billing info each time you call in an order for a part.

I had a similarly positive eperience asking for a grip for my 1006. It hasn't arrived yet, but they readily agreed to send it. That gun ahs been out of production for 32 years :)

As for the time it took to receive the grip, that may not be S&W's fault. Read some of the posts in the Lounge about the post office.

Midway sell's replacement grip's, straight and humped that fit numerous S&W models for around $21.00 each.

Could very well be, but they didn't give me any notification it was shipped, so I have to base the time on when I spoke with them last.
