I've posted a couple pics of my Weimaraner buddy, Daisy. I'm glad with my retirement I got to spend every day with her, & she with me almost everywhere I went. When I bought my car right before retirement I ordered special seat covers for the back seat. That was her spot. Now she'll be in an urn and her soul in my heart. She had a good 13 1/2 year life, and she made mine so much better. At one time all 3 girls & Chrissey were here, and Daisy made it so much more pleasant to come home. Yinz guys know what I mean! (I love women, but at certain times of the mo... never mind!)
I'll see you in heaven, Baby Girl!

Ya know, I never got used to that. Blindsided every time…

Man's BEST friend can do that to you.

Beautiful Weimi....

Sorry for your loss.

We have had three female Weimeraner's in our family since 1987 and they were all very exceptional family dogs.

The breed standard describes them accurately, they would do anything to be part of the family:

"Is Weimaraner a good breed of dog?
Yes, Weimaraners make excellent family dogs. They are energetic, friendly, and outgoing. They will require plenty of activities, so they will fit best into active families that enjoy jogging, hiking, or biking. Do these dogs bark a lot? Weimaraners are usually not excessive barkers."

…We don’t deserve dogs, but I’m glad we have them anyway.

Isn’t that the truth? ;) Sorry to hear about Daisy. Unfortunately, a lot of us here only too well understand the loss you’ve suffered. Someday, as Rusty has said, the fond memories will start to fill the hole in our hearts.

Thanks for all your concerns, etc. I knew it was gonna be hard the minute my wife brought her home as a puppy. She was very protective of the women here, but smartest dog that ever owned me. And 96# of pure muscle!
SmithNut, you nailed it, as did Rusty.

Sorry for your loss.

Condolences.

Many of us have lived this.

I can't have a dog where I live now so I get my dog fix volunteering at a local no kill shelter.

Shelter dogs are so grateful for any love they receive.

We are having a great run with adoptions through the roof right now although the shelter is selective as to where they go.

I'm sure you have seen this.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.

It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many splendid colors.

Just this side of Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush, green grass.

When beloved pets die, they go to this place.

There is always food and water and warm spring weather.

The old and frail animals are young again.

Those who are maimed are made whole again.

They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing.

They are not with their special person who loved them on earth.

So each day they run and play. Until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!

The nose twitches.

The ears are up!

The eyes are staring.

And this one suddenly runs from the group.

You have been seen!

And when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arms and embrace.

Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...Never again to be separated.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Seems that most on this Forum can relate. Know that we all share your pain but we also know that you will keep her memory in your heart until you see her again.

I hope she'll visit with my departed Weimaraner, "Smoky", over the rainbow bridge. (He departed on 7/5/2013.) You couldn't ask for a better pal.

You had many great years together with your friend. Godspeed.
