I read this in the paper a while ago. The specifics are changing by the hour. I am always stunned at the reasoning of the "participants." Might as well say "The devil made me do it." Here's apiece of the article:

"Brown said the suspect driving the van has told officers that he blames police for losing custody of his son and "accusing him of being a terrorist." The gunman also said he had explosives in the van, which appeared to be outfitted with gun ports in the sides.

Brown said, based on witness accounts, as many as four suspects may have been involved in the original shooting, including some who may have been positioned at elevated positions. Police couldn't confirm how many shooters were involved and where any additional suspects may be located.

Police later found two more suspicious packages. One was found in a dumpster and another underneath a police truck in the parking lot."

Now I have been divorced twice and had "custody issues" once. While I may have had "impure thoughts" toward my ex, never dawned on me to attack the cops in their house for revenge. I must be Lazy. Joe

Dallas Police HQ attacked

I opened my Kindle edition Washington Post to find a story that seemed like something out of a movie. According to the Post at least one and possibly several gunmen with "automatic weapons" attacked the Dallas Police. The attackers also had an "armored vehicle" that rammed a police car until disabled by a SWAT rifle shot (.50 caliber?) and led to a stand off at Jack in the Box. Possible explosive devices were also found.

What the....?

I have been following this today as well. Crazy stuff going on down in Dallas. Thankfully they are reporting no officers injured. Dallas PD has been using Twitter to put out a lot of their updates on this situation.

Supposedly this fruit cake is from Paris, TX. Last year he had some problems with domestic violence charges. Says the police took his kid and called him a terrorist. Lets see --- armored van bought on ebay, pipe bombs, shooting at a police HQ. Yep, sounds like a terrorist to me.

Just a mentally disturbed person with a grudge.

Media from Dallas reporting that the suspect who attacked police headquarters is dead.

Good riddance.

Same guy arrested just two years ago in Paris, TX after he armed himself and threatened to kill his family and shoot up schools.

No known terrorist affiliation, though claimed police called him a terrorist. Sounds as if he qualifies, but not on ideological grounds.

Just as well he's now null and void. Maybe his wife and kids can breathe more easily.

I cant find better info on this so ill wait to see what Judge Pirro says on her show tonight.

Haven't seen the news yet today, but my MSNBC homepage has a story via the WSJ that one nut has been killed by a sniper and all is well.

Confirmed pipe bombs were found by police HQ and in the van, but none exploded.

No known police casualties.

Suspect has a history of domestic abuse and temper issues. Looks like a case of good riddance. He is not Islamic or otherwise part of any ethnic, religious, or political terror group.

The battle occurred in a small town about ten miles south of Dallas proper, where he was run to ground in a Jack-in-Box parking lot.

Until I hear the local news in a couple of hours, that's all I know. But none of our members from here were involved, unless as part of the police responding, and they're all okay.

It is generally unwise to attack Texas police, as two Islamic militants learned a couple of weeks ago in suburban Garland. Of course, if a situation gets really bad, the governor will send a Ranger, ha!

The story may have been sanitized. Early reports were three or four gunmen. Then it becomes the usual lone gunman.

If it was a coordinated, albeit botched ISIS hanger on operation, then the lone gunman story would serve a number of ends.

Don't know about you folks but I can't wait for the next Jack in the Box commercial! Thumbs up to the Dallas PD.

I can hear it now.........

"So why didn't they just arrest him after they shot out the engine? That sounds like excessive use of force. He was obviously mentally disturbed and needed help. He didn't need to be shot."

You know it's coming........
