He is a trip everyday, two year old teenager, high energy,
have to run him hard everyday, instinctive herder.
You never know despite all your anticipation what
he is going to get into next.

Crazy smart, and he knows exactly what he's
being told to do, verbal and by hand.

Whether he does it or not, depends on his moment,
Alpha male, all day.

I'm savvy communication is a door that swings
both ways, and I've learned his varied vocal
and physical ways he communicates of what he wants.

Me and my other half are more trained than he is
We're not hard headed teenagers.

Got most of the chewing damage he did to the house
as an infant repaired, short of some drywall replacement.

He's a Rough Collie, not commonly seen anymore.
Few breeders, had to pick him out of the litter at one week.

My other half had dogged me about getting a puppy
for years, blew her off, telling her it's not fair to the pup
while we're working......when we retire.

Well, we retired, and she said.....you said.
I always do, what I say I'll do,
So said OK, but I pick the breed,
this Rough Collie isn't my first one

Damage and demanding, MacTavish is loved to death.
Brings untold joy and activity to our lives in retirement.

He's a show stopper,
Photo's are from one week to his this year trip
to see Santa.

I also have another Weim, Angel, my second one and perhaps my last at my age, at nine months old she's a loveable 80# of pure energy. MacTavish is a very beautiful young man! If you have a young boy in your family named Timmy that happens to get stuck in a well, rest assured MacTavish will go get help! How can anyone not love that little guy laying on your lap!? Thanks for sharing.

A house is not a home without paw prints and nose art on the car windows.
Beautiful dog.
I have a Weimaraner so I understand all those behaviors :-)

So true…
Here’s Dude contemplating life’s mysteries, or perhaps going outside for his morning constitutional.

A beauty.

Our friend and neighbor in Switzerland had one of those Collies she named Joy. That dog and my hubby really loved each other and were always together when outside.
Joy was always perfectly behaved with hubby, until the day he borrowed some ski equipment to try and learn skiing on the hill in front of the house. Joy relentlessly shadowed him down the hill, waiting for him to achieve some velocity, then charge up to him leap up and push him over.
An hour later hubby returns, soaking wet and freezing cold. Never did learn to ski.

Handsome boy!
