I too joined the 66-no dash club in November, quite as a fluke. I was watching an on-line live auction and saw the pre-bid on the 66 was rather low. So I put down $375 thinking I would easily be out bid. Other stuff was going for ridiculous amounts. My surprise when I won. It wasn't until I got it in my hands that I realized what I had.
4" 66 with the a 4K1xxx s/n. Recessed cylinders, trigger stop and stainless sights....which work real well on dark targets, btw. The hammer spring had been bent to lighten the pull resulting in mis-fires. Put in a new spring and WOW. What a great single and double action trigger. Actually had to back off on the strain screw a bit. Originally I was going to dump it on Gun Broker, but now it's has an honored place along side me around the house.
Being newly addicted to S&W revolvers, it make take me longer to overcome the euphoria. Step 1 is admitting we have a problem.....CHECK. Actually, I'm struggling with Step Six...
# Step 6 - We're ready to have God remove all these defects of character
