Date for S&W Model 60-15

Hi, I am a new member. I just purchased a a S&W Model 60-15 Stainless Steel revolver with a 3" barrel in 357 magnum.
I love the gun. It will fire golf ball size groups at 15 yards. It is comfortable to shoot with magnum loads IF I wear a glove. It is controllable to shoot one handed without a glove.

My question:

What is the date of this revolver. Serial number - DAF4811

It has the internal safety lock and rubber grips with adjustable sights.

Welcome to the forum Lou. Looks like that could have shipped in 2006. Do you have the box? If so there is a spec code that is the Julian date for shipping. If you post the code we could get you a correct date.

Hi g-dad, thank you for the reply.

I got nothing with the gun. Not even a manual or the key for the lock. I called S&W and they sent me a manual and the key.

I will have to settle for the 2006 date. Thanks again.

I have not had a S&W revolver since I sold my model 19 combat masterpiece in 357 and my J-frame with the shrouded hammer in 38 special, years ago.

I am so pleased with this J frame it is a little jewel. The cylinder gap is very small and that helps with the accuracy.
