?Date on S&W Model 36

Just picked it up today. SN 5012XX. It came with an old leather holster marked:
"police special"
Lewis
L.A. Cal.
38 2

I assume, Los Angeles and 38 caliber 2". Could someone help with date on the gun and approximate date for holster? Thanks!

My gun date either late 1963 to early 64 and serial number is 4466xx. So my guess is late 64 to 65.
