I'm not sure if I've seen him......

I'm not sure if I've seen him on anything else. He played a good 'guy you love to hate'. Didn't Hawkeye and Pierce get to him near the end and he let up a little on the pompous stuff?

He played several character roles after MASH that spoke to what a good & versitle actor he was. I'm sorry to hear of his passing, just a few years older than me which really gives me pause. RIP Major Winchester.

RIP Charles.

I really enjoyed him in the MASH series, wealth didn't keep him out of Korea, and I know that bothered him.:D

Made me laugh a lot, bragging all the time about his surgeon status at the MGH in Boston.

He was also the voice of Cogsworth, the clock, in the animated version of Beauty and the Beast.

Most people don't know he was also a conductor:
Stiers was the associate conductor for the Newport (Oregon) Symphony Orchestra and the Ernest Bloch Music Festival. He also guest-conducted over 70 orchestras around the world, including the Oregon Mozart Players, the Vancouver Symphony, the Virginia Symphony, the Oregon Chamber Players, the Yaquina (Oregon) Chamber Orchestra, as well as orchestras in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago and Toronto. (Wikipedia)

RIP

80's comedy movie

I'm not sure, but didn't he play the dad in "Better Off Dead", a funny/stupid teen movie from the 80's? The movie in which the paperboy on the bike kept harassing Laine Myers for $2 as a sub-plot. (Where's my 2 dollars/)! The dad thought his son was on drugs and was using some parenting booklet on how to tell if your kid's on drugs. Almost possitive it was Stiers.
