Decocker only detail strip?

Be careful, when manipulating the barrel of the decocker assembly out of the frame, not to bend the end of the decocker spring where it goes into the hole in the frame. Getting it out is easier than getting it back in. I find that a pair of very fine needle nose helps.

same thing w/o the spring and detent
if the spring comes off, its broke.
I used a mini screw driver to line up the spring end with the hole in the slide.
other than that, pretty much the same

Hmm, sounds unpleasant. If I wanted to get rid of the spring loaded decocker, do you just have to remove the spring, or do you need a replacement safety? I thought I remember someone saying that you might need a new sear or something and that its a factory job.
I had zero problem (besides the plunger getting lost in the garage on the safety!) replacing my firing pin spring on the other one, and I like the idea of being able to clean the FP channel myself and replace the spring or FP if needed. I guess I will convert it over...

its easier in the area that you dont have to worry about the spring and detent on the decocker body.
the coil spring is not hard to line up and many times you just have to get it started and the rest snaps in.
the only reason to change would be that someone would want a manual decocker/safety as opposed to the spring loaded decocker.
I am not sure if the spring loaded decocker body has the hole for the detent and spring in the body. I am guessing NOT, as the machining for the coil spring would be mighty close to where the hole would be.
If no one else answers, I will look at my CQB decocker body later.

No other parts need to modified on a TSW gun. I have had S&W convert some of my TSW pistols to decocker-only and I have done some myself. You can email me. My email is in my profile.
Success! I had no trouble at all removing the decocker, swapping in a nice new Wolff extra power firing pin spring, and getting the whole thing back together. I was lucky, the spring on the decocker almost seemed like it wanted to go right back in the hole in the frame. A little screwdriver was all it took to line it up correctly.
At this point, now that I know I can change the fp spring and clean the channel on my own, I will likely leave the pistol in its current configuration.
After thinking about it a bit, why spend money to undo what some people went out of their way to accomplish...

Good job. Like many of us here, you may well become so accustomed to the spring loaded decocker that you stick with it for good.
