Hey people a little help here.

Just saw a 4 pointer with Red horns in my back yard. It was about 20' from my house! (Now gone) Now I understand velvet but this is different. Nothing hanging or dragging off the horns just red colored. I have been seeing deer with horns with no velvet for at least the last six weeks at my rural home but I have never seen red horns.

Over the course of time I have seen plenty of deer but this is a newiw on me. Never saw a buck with red horns. The weather is a changing and the bucks are moving around more.

Should I be seeing my Eye Doctor!:D

Yes, still blood stained from the velvet membrane. Cool to see a freshly rubbed buck.

In a month or so please tell us how does he taste! Seriously, I live in a subdivision outside San Antonio and we must have between 500 to 750 deer living in it. We regularly see massive bucks and does, hunting is not allowed. We were on the front porch when the big bubba buck comes across the street and walks up to us expecting a hand out!!
I told my wife I drive 400 miles round trip to hunt this magnificent animal, and I get as much joy knowing he will be safe here.

Thanks for all the responses! I sort of thought that might be it.

I have seen plenty of deer with velvet over the years that process takes plenty of blood, just never saw red horns!:D Got to admit it was nice seeing these deer around.

After 40 years of deer hunting I no longer do it. So far at just my house I have seen 6 males from a spike to 8 points and plenty of does. That count pails compared to what I see driving down the roads.:)

And all I read is there's no deer in the Adirondacks. Or it's such a vast area they are to hard to hunt. You should lease the hunting rights to your yard.
