Are there any books on defensive revolver shooting out there by uncommon authors? Maybe lawmen or people that may not be as well known as Bill Jordan or Charlie Askins. Anyone have anything like that?

Ed Lovette....... The Snubby Revolver.

Excellent book. He's been around the block a few times.

I was going to mention Ed Lovette's book if no-one else had.

An older one is "Fast & Fancy Revolver Shooting" by Ed McGivern.

Another with a lot to say about revolvers is Chic Gaylord's "Handgunner's Guide."

Both of the last two have been reprinted falrly recently.
I got a first edition of Gaylord's book off the remainder table at a bookstore in Escanaba many years ago. It'd dated but still worth reading.

This is why I like this forum, people who know about Bill Jordan, Charles Askins, and Ed McGivern. Great books all. I also liked Ayoob's "In the Gravest Extreme" and will now have to look for a copy of Lovette's book.

"Combat Handgun Shooting" by James D. Mason

»The Pistol As A Weapon of Defense In The House And On The Road, (1875), author unknown, Paladin Press, Boulder, CO, (Reprint) 2004, ISBN 1-58160-432-7

Amazon plug: "Written in 1875, this may be the first book ever published on the practical use of the pistol for self-defense. It contains remarkably modern advice on realistic handgun stopping power, effective shot placement, the practicality of pistol carry and much more. With an exclusive foreword by Jeff Cooper."

I found this rather rare little volume years ago and persuaded Paladin Press to reprint it a few years back. Cooper was rather taken with it and wrote an introduction to it.

Just read Ed Lovets book 2 months ago while off relaxing for a week great book a must read.

Many of the Paladin Press books can also be found for a Kindle or other reader. I bought Lovette's book for my Kindle.

Take a look at The Farnam Method of Defensive Handgunning, Second Edition - by John Farnam. It's available through Amazon and has some good stuff on revolvers and defensive handgun use in general.
