According to the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, I am a right-wing extremist because....
1. I oppose restrictions on firearms
2. I oppose the policies of president Obama regarding immigration, citizenship, and the expansion of social programs
3. I oppose abortion
4. I oppose "same-sex" marriage
5. I oppose lax immigration laws
6. I oppose a "one world" government
7. I oppose continuation of free trade agreements
8. I am suspect of foreign regimes
9. I fear communist regimes
10. I bemoan the decline of U.S. stature in the world
11. I am upset with the loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India and more.

And the U.S. Dept. of Defense says I am a terrorist because I protest such things as the affore mentioned.
But I say I am an American BECAUSE of the affore mentioned things that I believe
Scary to think that any of these things could make you a right-wing extremist or terrorist!
I left out being a former member of the military, because I am not one. I am proud to be an American!

Don't flatter yourself....None of the eleven items you listed qualifies you as a "Right wing extremist" according to Homeland Security. All Eleven are opinions you are entitled to and are free to hold. If in the pursuit of your beliefs you advocate or instigate violence in the pursuit of your political agendas then that is a different matter. Uncle Sam could care less what you believe so long as you live peacefully and abide by the laws of the land. If those laws cause you grief then work within the system to have them changed.

No, not in the dark. Tell me, have you been placed on the no fly list? Has anyone from the government knocked on your door? What privileges have you had taken away? Some two bit bureaucrat used the phrase "Right Wing Extremist" and the nonsense escalated. I repeat, you are entitled to your opinions. Calling someone a right wing extremist is about as meaningful as left wing pinko. Each label means different things to different people. Both are stupid as are most of the folks, (government included), that use them. I share a number of your beliefs but that doesn't make me a terrorist anymore than you. The memo in question was a public relations nightmare, nothing more, and does not reflect the policies of the United States government.

There are however some very scary folks that can be accurately called right wing extremist and sadly many loyal , law abiding Americans (such as yourself I presume), got tarred with that same brush. Just because you share some of the same beliefs as the dangerous nut jobs doesn't make you one. Regardless of their politics, left or right, violent extremist /terrorist pose a very real threat the American people. We have seen our rights trampled in the name of national security fueled by jingoistic crapola for nearly a decade. It's high time the government got back to adhering to the Constitution and dispensed with petty name calling and labels.

Thank you Capt Steve for clearing that up. I think the whole thing is stupid, too. But, unfortunately, BO hasn't really shown he's on the same page as most people who have those varying beliefs I stated.
