Device Let's Smartphone Users Scan A Person For Concealed Firearms From Up To 40'

I don't believe this. Having sat on a public school board, I can't fathom a public entity taking on the risk of appearing to scan for weapons when it's not. Imagine the chaos should an incident occur . . .

Our highschool started making attendees at football games walk through a "metal detector" several years ago. One Friday night as I stood in line to "get scanned" and enter the stadium, I saw folks handing over pocket knives to the deputies manning the "scanner" before walking through -- then realized that they also HAD to be carrying car keys, coins, metal plates and screws inside their bodies, etc. -- and the scanner never went off once. Suspecting a fake, I strolled right through with no problem carrying a big ol' folder in my pocket. I later confirmed through a friend who was a school board member that they had bought a fake metal detector. Real ones were way too expensive...

So our "stadium security" is just like TSA -- a total fake. Just as a cheap lock only secures things from theft by honest people, airport and stadium security only keep us safe from timid terrorists.

Brother, you don't know our school board. One, a board member for going on 16 years now, is illiterate -- literally cannot write his own name. They have hired -- and fired -- 4 superintendents in 5 years, all on 4-year contracts -- which were bought out at a total of over $2 million. They are utter morons, pure and simple. The sole exception, my friend, is a well-educated, intelligent and highly-motivated man -- and is outvoted 7 to 1 on EVERY vote taken. On more than one occasion he has been physically assaulted by other board members in the parking lot after meetings. For a while, Sheriff's deputies were there to escort him home -- until he p'd off the Sheriff.

Then, there's our City Council, one member of which is a convicted felon -- 23 separate incidents of check forgery and fraud. He shouldn't have even been certified as a candidate, but there's our Election Commission -- forget it, there's not time...

But a LOT of folks are like my mom -- "Oh, that could never happen HERE!" Dream on... it's happening every day right before our eyes.

I've got so much metal in me from a couple of back operations I would light up like a Christmas tree !!! I always set the detectors off ..

Think I'll wait on this before I buy one.
Last time I bought a high tech device it was drawers that had charcoal inserts that were supposed to neutralize your farts. I think I was a Beta Tester.......BTW they didn't work ;)

I could see leaving my gun at home and carrying a metal nut cracker that's had gun powder burnt on it just to confuse the gun detector. Or maybe a foil profile of a gun when visiting some prohibited place. Don't they drop foil pieces in order to fool radar? Seems like you could fool that $1000 app while having some fun.
