Diamond grips, how long and when

I have a Model 36, round butt which I prefer in this snubbie and diamond grips. The serial is 352XXX and i just got curious about when the diamond grips ceased. This one has a flat latch. Just curious on timing... Now think I posted in the wrong place. My story always.

This stock checkering style went away in about 1967 and the flat latch in about 1966. Your J frame is from about 1965-'66, I think.
