Diamond in the Rough; A Club Gun Story

I ran across this thread just now. Have read through it twice and have to say that this is about the most interesting and historically significant texts ever. Many thanks to the OP and to the other members for all the research that was contributed.
Almost a miracle to have come across these guns. Something that may have been relegated to a backroom or attic and never seen again. What a great team effort to solve the mystery.
I love it. Thanks again to all.

Inside it, were some cleaning patches, a screwdriver, a pair of vintage glasses (with the RH lens knocked out and the LH lens painted in black to only allow one eye to be used without having to actually close the other)....

Howdy again Kris,
Was looking again (I know, I know :o), and your comment about the glasses caught my eye. It appears those are homemade peephole shooting glasses. The darkened lens has a small orifice that aligns with the shooters pupil. Aiming through this orifice is like stopping down a camera lens. It greatly expands the focus depth of field, like using a Marbles tang sight on a rifle.

So whatcha gonna do for an encore? ;)

Kris, Wow ! .... just Wow !
Finally had a chance to sit down and read through this on the big screen, instead of just perusing on my phone as I normally do.
What a package. This is certainly museum quality. The back story is incredible. Hope to see more in the Journal soon.

Regards,
Bruce
