This is Dick Fors wife, Pat. I just wanted to inform all of you about Dick. He had a bad stroke in April 2014 and had been in a nursing home since then, unable to do anything. On October 14th this year he had another one and passed away on the 20th. We had just celebrated 62 years of marriage. He was a wonderful man and I and our family miss him very much!!!

May God keep you and my sincere condolences.
I just looked up some of his posts and it looks like his last couple were an "I'll take it" on a 659 and a prayer for rwsmith's father. Pretty fair representation of what this forum is about.

So long, Dick.

I'm sorry I didn't know Mr. Fors. Please accept our prayers and condolences for you and your family.

Pretty much the same for me.

It is tragic to lose a loved one, but even more tragic to see them suffer in a state you know they'd rather not endure. May his passing bring closure to that sad part of your life, and may you take comfort in knowing his suffering has ended, and in the knowledge that he goes to prepare a place for you both to spend eternity.

Hi Pat, Dick was a forum friend of mine. Spent time here talking about different guns in our life. He had a lot of friends here and enjoyed the forum. I remember you came on once in the past saying things weren't good with him and I often wondered how he was. Even started a thread to see if someone knew him and if he was OK. Sorry to hear he passed away and hope he didn't suffer. I'll say some prayers for him, he was a good person. That's super you two were married so long and were able to enjoy each other for such a long period. God bless, Larry

Pat, I am so sorry I lost contact with you and Dick when we moved back to Missouri. He was truly a great guy and I regret life got in the way of me keeping in contact.

Hello,

I'm Reddog's grandson. I just wanted to personally say thank you to anyone that knew him and in general the S&W forum and it's members. Grandpa and I use to discuss posts here quite a bit and I know he thoroughly enjoyed reading and partaking in discussions. He was a great man who shared his love of firearms (most notably S&W ones) with every member of his family and I know I for one hope to pass on that same love to my children. I've been a member for awhile but haven't posted much so hopefully I'll be doing that more.

Thanks again everyone,

My condolences, Pat, and prayers for you and the family.

My parents made sixty-four years. I know a marriage as long as yours takes powerful commitment and understanding.

I can't say it any better than Iggy and Jeebus, But know that he is missed and you and your family are in my prayers.
