I drank a big house spider a few weeks ago in a cup of coffee. I use one of those cone-filters with boiling water from a teapot and had just made a nice cup of Colombian. I removed the filter from my cup, added a splash of creamer... and that was when the dead spider floated to the top of my mug.
I didn't want to waste good coffee or take a chance on breaking it up into pieces by trying to fish it out, so the not-so-itsy-bitsy spider went down in the first gulp....
I would have dumped the Jack, too, but I don't think much of it as a beverage.
Now if I had found a fly in my glass of Willett Family Reserve cask-strength bourbon, he would have been a chaser. I'm not dumping good whiskey for a pesky, dead( or at least VERY drunk) housefly.
