Difference between these two styles of red dot scopes?

I use one like the 1st link. Quicker target aquisition. For me anyways.

Thanks Roman. So for just target shooting and maybe an occasional pest control, there really wouldn't be much of a difference between the too? Would it be the same for night time use?

Hey guys,

What is the difference between this style red dot:
TRUGLO Tru-Brite Open Red-Dot Sight - Dick's Sporting Goods

and this one:
TRUGLO Dual Color Red-Dot Sight - Dick's Sporting Goods

Is the biggest advantage of the first one the fact that you have faster target acquisition? Any other advantages?

Thanks

I prefer this type for action shooting. the first one you show is similar but uses a sort of built in sunshade. I prefer this type instead:

TRUGLO Open Dual Color Red-Dot Sight - Dick's Sporting Goods

Keeps you more from the tunnel effect of the other 2.

For long range shooting you need a small dot. For action shooting under 35 yards bigger is better (actually faster shooting). I like 3 MOA on my rifles and 6-8 MOA on my pistols.

Ive the same one as Photoracer, actually have a few of them.
Perfer these because of the sight picture you get. Clear view all round the target as compared to, what Photo mentioned ,the tunnel effect from the scoop looking one.
Some folks like that sight look tho, maybe its helps them concentrate on that one target?
