Hello Everyone,
I am thinking of purchasing a used Dillon XL 650 with a case feeder minus the strong mounts. Can anyone help me with the dimensions of the unit? Specifically, how high is it with the case feeder and without the strong mounts? I have ample space in my basement with several benches attached to the wall. I am not sure if the 45 inches between the bench tops to the ceiling will be enough. The unit looks pretty high from photographs I have seen. I do have other options if it doesn't workout, but I would prefer to use my existing benches if I can. Thanks in advance for your help.

I just went to my garrage and measured my Dillon 650. I have the strong mounts on mine as well as the auto casefeeder. Mine measures right at 45 inches high. It would be less without the strong mounts, but I dont have the time to take them off for a measurement today. This is a great machine, especially for handgun rounds.

Interesting...I have 2 (1) is 45" the other is 41.75", both are set up the same, only difference is (1) small primer.

Answer to your question...

33.875" from bottom of press to top of case feeder.

One may have the 550/650 mount and the other may be the 650 mount, they are differnt heights.

Machine heights (and other metrics) are on dillonprecision.com. Click on "Which machine is right for you..." on the left hand side. It will take you to a screen that shows metrics. Then search for strong mount and you can see the height of each Strong Mount. The 650-only mount raises the machine 6." The 550/650 mount raises the machine 8.5."

Sooo, if the case feeder sits that close to the ceiling, how you gonna load it, unjam it, change plates, clean it, etc.?

My 650 with case feeder, sitting on an 8.5" mount, is 21 inches from the 8-foot ceiling. This is more than enough room to use the case feeder easily. The machine is mounted on a desktop that is 29" above the floor.

Having said that, I am just under 6' 6" so it is easy for me to reach everything without a stool or ladder.
