I'm thinking of picking up a Sigma in either 9mm or .40, and was wondering how the pistols measure for concealed carry...height and width, as well as overall length. Anybody measure one, or have any comparisons with other pistols' sizes?

The Sigma is fairly large for concealed carry. I like my Sigma and it stays loaded on my nightstand (in the drawr during the day)-- but for CC I use something much smaller: a KelTec P-11-- small, reliable and 10 rounds of 9 X 19

I dont have any comparisons, but I carry a Sigma 40 everyday and I love it. It is harder to conceal but it can be done!

same here .. I conceal a sigma everyday. Was carrying an xd40 but for some reason the handle on that one would print badly.

Sigmas use the same holster as the HK full size.
The are enough wider than a Glock that they don't use the same holster as a 19, more like the 21.

They can be carried either IWB or OWB, depnding on how you dress. Naturally, a Kahr P9 or M&P compact is considerably smaller--and costs more.

I used to carry a G23 IWB with no problems. Today I checked out a Sigma and I really liked the way it felt. I think I see one in my future :D

I have no problem concealing a fullsize M&P or Walther P99 (I highly recommend checking out both of them as well if you are looking at Sigmas) which are comparable in size to the Sigma, and I am relatively thin. The Sigma is definitely concealable, but deep cover concealment may be slightly difficult simply due to its size.

In the summer I CC my PF9 or PM9, but now that colder weather is here, I have more options. I originally bought my Sigma for a car gun, but it's so good, it has replaced one of my Sigs for CC. It will fit my Kholster, but is a bit large for IWB. It works well in a belt holster under a coat or in one of my "Carry" jackets.

Thanks to all for your replies. Being on a fixed income now, I've looked at the relative costs of reloading for practice rounds, and of purchasing commercial ammo. My consideration of a 9mm now has to do with the availability of commercially loaded ammo at around $24/100. I can put together .45 or .357 rounds for about $16.00/100 at current component prices using cast bullets, and so the economies of reloading in these crazy times are (at least for now) diminishing.

I still will reload, simply because I enjoy it, but to have an alternative supply of practice rounds available commercially at reasonable prices is also becoming increasingly important to me.

I have read of many good experiences with the Sigmas, and the current prices of them are a really strong draw. The dimensions and weight of a Sigma, while larger than some semi-autos on the market, are still much less than my 625 4" revolver, and might be a good step-up from my 642 or SP-101 as a carry option.

As soon as I recover enough from my shoulder surgery (done last Friday), I'll take a closer look at a Sigma.

Thanks again.
