Dinner $186, plus tip..........

That is a great.....

That is a great investment with a high return. Did you find out about it in the Wall Street Journal?

PS: With prices the way they are I'll bet it's pretty easy to spend that much if you have wine/liquor, appetizers, tip the works. I have no idea how much I've spent for the two of us, but the last time we went all out I'm sure it was under $100. Nowadays a trip to Captain Ds would be fine.

I am sorry, but it will be a cold day in you know where before I would even consider paying $186 for a meal for two, especially one that looks like a dieter's delight. If wasting money is how you show someone you care for them, I guess I am just too dense to get it.

I don't know about the rest of these mooks, but there wasn't anything diet about my steak from Gene & Georgetti's!

Wait now we spend up to and over $1,000 on a gun yet won't buy the misses and you a $189.00 meal? She gets nothing the whole time? Washes your clothes, cleans your house, feeds you? She not worth a meal like that? Wow!,,,

When my cousin sold the farm in vt I had no place to hunt with my brother. The misses says why don't we buy land in vt so you guys could go hunting? This was in 1986. She's not worth a $200 dinner? She's worth her weight in gold to me and more. We're married for 41 years this month. The dinner will be at a expensive place for sure.

I have no problem taking my wife out for a nice dinner. But she'd kill me if I paid $186 for a plate of dog puke!!!! In fact, she had rather me to buy a new gun than to waste that kind of money on pukie looking food.

I'm not going out to planning spend $200 on a dinner. Example I might want a steak n lobster, or something I don't normally eat. I go out with the misses to enjoy being out with her. I like to make dining out special.

Canada????

USA, northeast.

We have some upper end restaurants here where I haven't been in yet. Maybe it's time to try one. Where not talking a burger and fries joint. It's my mad money that I save up. When we pass on we can't take it with us.

Just want to remind you guys that there's more to life and dating your wife than just dinner out. We really enjoy live theater, especially musicals, and live music. Our summer calendar is already filled with concerts and plays we'll be going to see, along with car show dates to take the old Tbird to. Next weekend we'll be going down to Ogunquit to see Grease at the Playhouse. It's an overnight trip because of the distance so we have plans to try out a new restaurant in Portland and hit one of our favorite breakfast places on the way home. Next month is busy with the Rocky Horror Show at the Penobscot Opera House, a couple of concerts and a car show/blues festival. You gotta get her out there and do stuff while you can!

My wife & I love to travel. We just spent a week in New Orleans.I have been on my job long enough that I have accrued a lot of vacation time and earn 4 weeks a year. So, she plans her work schedule accordingly. I took her to NYC a few years ago. We went to see Spamalot on Broadway & had dinner at Sardi's. We also went to the Tavern on the Green during that trip.

We've been going to Maine every year for 15 years now. I know most of those places you mentioned. While you are down in the southern part of the state, take your wife to the Good Table (Cape Elizabeth). It is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere in the world!

We are going back this summer & finally going to do something we've been wanting to do forever.....go house hunting for a vacation home there!!!
