Should maybe say their customer service. Paid bill and
check deposited and cleared. I have copies of front and
back of check. Spent over an hour with 6 different people
and could anybody help? NO

Only answer .... go to web site.

I would leave Directv except they have a stranglehold on the NFL Sunday games coverage. I would like to see the FCC break their monopoly grip on seasonal sports packages so the competition can force the prices down to a sensible level.

Sad fact is that cable and fios companies are just as bad. I'm getting raped by Frontier each month. I've had direct TV, and would go back if it wasn't such a pain in the butt to rewire everything again.

If it wasn't for sports, I'd be off cables completely. If I could get OTA channels where I'm at, I still probably drop it, but reception is non-existant due to nearby towers. My brother lives two miles away and gets every channel.

Isn't Direct TV now part of AT&T? I have Dish, and have had no recent problems with it. Back when I first started using Dish Network about 10 years ago, I had several problems with them also, but those were finally resolved through insisting that I talk with someone higher than the minimum-wage trolls with room-temperature IQs who man the customer service telephones. Once I found the right person to talk to at the HQ level, things improved greatly.

"with someone higher than the minimum-wage trolls with room-temperature IQs who man the customer service telephones."

Hiring them, their lack of training, and desired result (answer lots of calls) were all made by somebody at the "HQ" level.

I can't imagine working at one of those call centers unless I was really desperate for a job, as I imagine most of them are.

No question that being a call center operator is not a job anyone aspires to and is employment of last resort for most. Just like working for a bill collection agency. Plus many call centers are located in India or other foreign locations. As I remember, those from Dish I first spoke with at least sounded like they were Americans.

If you don't get any satisfaction ASAP contact your state AG. You may be able to file a complaint online. I did. And it worked REAL quick.

We "cut the cord" over two years ago...we had DirecTV, and it was expensive and not good service. It was an adjustment at first, but with NetFlix, Amazon Prime, and the various streaming channels on the internet, we do just fine. My wife is the sports enthusiast in our household, and she does miss some of the games, but we can usually find the main NFL and NBA games she wants to watch on the internet.

satellite and cable tv business are all vast waste lands.....monthly fees are high, programing is low and includes channels devoted to advertising and movies that were made before any of us were born.....

We had to economize....

The first thing that I realized we could do without was an 'essential'.....cable TV. It wasn't a hard decision to make because it cost piles of money for absolutely nothing. We watch Netflix and anything we can find streaming that costs me $3 if there is something special I want to see.

What is minimum wage in India?

I friggin hate direct tv too and would drop them in a heartbeat, but my kids would kill me. I really hate going back to watch a movie or weekly show I've recorded, only to find out halfway through that it rained and took the signal out. Thank god for online streaming just so I can find out how something ended.

This may be a stupid question but does streaming netflix count against the data usage on your internet? I have satellite internet with 16gb per month and have gotten low data warnings if I was on you tube too much.

Movies made before any of us were born made not necessarily bad! Now the remakes of the movies made before we were born, and a lot of the garbage made today that goes directly to video, infomercials, reality shows, expose shows, news shows, same movies on multiple channels simultaneously, are a reason to look out your window or go for a walk or ride and enjoy mother nature ! 🍁

I couldn't decide if I liked the NFL or America's Most Wanted the most, then I realized I couldn't tell the difference. Same characters.

Direct TV is now owned by AT&T. This may be part of the
problem. Maybe first order of business is to cut people.
Worst customer service I have ever encountered in my
70 years. They screw up and nobody can help? Unbelievable.

I didn't know people still paid stuff by check. If you paid online you'd be golden.

Yes it does. 16gb isn't much. I'm paying ATT $52 a month for 1TB
