How about "the rock" as harry carrying a s&w .500? or maybe if a revolver is to old school for a new audience a .50 desert eagle?

who else would make a good harry? every other movie has been remade.

How about they let Clint keep the title he earned and keep the story alive as it is, where it will earn its place in history. I challenge the hollywood (capitalization left out on purpose) libtards to actually come up with a new idea or story line.

The Rock sucked in the remake of Walking Tall I can't imagine him trying to pull off Dirty Harry

I agree totally, but we all know these things happen. Ever see the remake of the longest yard. Terrible. It's rumored that Burt Reynolds slapped someone on the set for not having seen the original.

I think Josh Brolin might make a good Dirty Harry.
I'd put a model 29 in his hand and let him take a shot
at the role. But Pleeeease do NOT reprise the role and
end up arming the new Harry with a Glock or some other
ugly butt gun.

The new dirty harry should be so public liaison officer that hates guns and wont carry one. He goes around talking nicely to criminals hoping to change their ways. Maybe he could hand out hard candy or lollypops...

Next we remake Star Wars and Jaws...

Maybe somethings shouldn't be remade.

Anyone wanna help me paint a new Mona Lisa?

:)

The Rock?
Yo - You're talking HOLLYWOOD here - More likely Chris Rock would get the part.

Please, NO remake!

Clint Eastwood IS "Dirty Harry".

....and while it is true that other actors were considered for the original movie before Eastwood................Eastwood firmly cemented the role as his own without even really trying. It was casting magic.

Just sound sound of Eastwoods voice alone......No-one else can deliver the dialogue the same way.......and any other way would not be right.....just wouldn't work. At least for me it wouldn't.

Recall the way Eastwood angrily gritted his teeth at the end of the first movie during the "Do-you-feel-lucky" speech to the bad guy holding the kid.......

.....No actor alive today could pull that moment off.

I won't vote for anyone till I hear him growl "Go ahead punk, make my day".

I would love to have the voice of Dirty Harry Callihan on my answering machine saying something like "Leave a message and maybe I will call you back, do you feel lucky punk, well do you?"

Seriously, Clint Eastwood's facial expressions and vocalizations work so well it is hard (for me) to imagine anyone else in that role.

They should not remake it... but if they did

On a serious note: Bruce Willis or Mickey Rourke

On a lighter note: Billy Bob Thornton? It could be interesting

All the calls for people like Josh Brolin or Christian Bale? Serously? They are too young.

And no foreigners like Daniel Craig or the dude who did "transporter"

The rock is too much of a meathead, so no him or vim diesel, thats not what harry callahan was
