Hey guys, the family an I are heading to DW right after Christmas, and I was wondering if anyone one knew whether or not I could get in with my Surefire E2 Defender? I know I can't carry my shield, but really want to at least have my Surefire on me. Thanks.

I'm not wantin to carry my firearm there, just my Surefire defender flashlight. Anyone have any experience with these down there?

When I lived in Florida and went to DW with our small kids, my wife carried everything but the kitchen sink in a large shoulder bag!!! Probably had a flashlight somewhere in there.

If you want to take it, then take it.

I use to work at WDW (2006-08) and occasionally carried a J frame IWB. From what I was told the state of Florida makes it so that you can carry in the parks as long as you’ve got your conceal permit. There are no signs saying you can’t. But it does have to be a Florida issued permit, from what I was told back then. I never discussed it with my supervisor (probably should have) and I never read anything anywhere when I went through training or signed employee forms, that stated I could not carry.

I didn’t always carry in the actual parks because they are pretty well regulated and security does an amazing job on the grounds. Cameras cover every area (except restrooms of course) and at the slightest mishap, security is on the scene. The only times I carried on me regularly was when I worked in Downtown Disney and Disney’s Boardwalk, mainly as a form of protection. These areas are open to the public and not as well regulated. Outsiders are free to come and go as they please and I use to see a lot of shady characters after hours. Plus they would make employees park in a different lot which was usually away from the main grounds and it would get pretty dark at the times when the park closed.

I spent a few days at WDW this past summer with the family and I carried a small Streamlight flashlight and a Benchmade automatic knife in my cargo shorts the entire time. I always just walked right through the little security choke points.

I was there spring of this year and let's just say I carried more than a flashlight. They check your bags on the way in to the various parks but they do not check your person.

I visit WDW twice a year, I always have my Benchmade and my Elzetta light with me, they do check guys wearing tactical shorts at times, depends on who you get, never a issue with the light, they frown on the Benchmade, but they usually let you go...

i had a pocket knife with a clip and security saw it and said i had to put it in a locker. walked over to locker then sliped it in wifes handbag. no problems . there were no sighns this was at bush gardens fla . if u have a permit u should be fine FLA permit expands to about half the states in U.S

They always ask for my pointer finger, and I always give them the middle. You have to give them a finger print to get in though.

Florida CCW law allows you to take in your concealed weapon unless they specifically ask you to leave with it, even if they have posted signs. That is assuming that you have a CWL recognized by Florida. Enjoy your trip!
