…if we do, we are doomed. It does not grant us the right it is merely a statement of our inalienable right.

Publius Huldah says federal gun control is unlawful under the constitution and she demonstrates that it is.

But the Supreme Court has decided that the police have no duty to protect us.

So if they ar not going to, who is?

I don't believe that the 2nd does guarentee that, but there are some others that do.

Interesting subject. If the police don't have the duty to protect (yes they do when they can, but no they don't what they can't), and at the same time some people advocate the 2nd A does not allow cc, then what is the default position for self defense? In Vermont we solved this problem by writing it into the constitution, stating "People have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the state". We allow cc, or oc, by anyone 16 and older who isn't otherwise restricted. I suggest a question to those who would abolish the 2nd A. If the police are unable to protect the citizens of this country then what is the default position?
