Do they have the shooter? YES!

Just saw pics of the gun used. Looking at suspect and gun it's a wonder he hit anything. I can't imagine what the suspects father is feeling. So many life's ruined by this act.
At the news conference ongoing, it was said to be a Mauser 98. I saw a poor quality picture of the rifle yesterday, and it appeared to be a sporterized Model 98. Earlier reports said it was a Mauser 19 Savanna. Looking at the picture, no way it could have been a Savanna. Caliber of the recovered rifle had been stated earlier as a .30-06, but no mention of the caliber was made in the news conference.

Looks to me like a 98 in a plastic stock with a crudely mounted scope.

He was turned in by his father, not a lot of work involved.
I heard that the father talked to his pastor first and then turned his son in. I' wonder if he'll claim the $100K reward...

We locked a previous thread on the Kirk assassination because it went political. Don't do that here....

The inability of every part of the political spectrum to engage in civil discourse, and the entitled views of those who think they can apply violence to those with whom they disagree, does not speak well of our society. The answer to people with whom you disagree is debate; if the disagreement is really substantial, the response is avoidance. It sure as hell is not hunting them down and shooting them.

Chad, Charlie Kirk's murder was political, however our response to this heinous act shouldn't be. I happened to agree with Charlie on most issues. Others obviously disagreed with him. Violence can never be an acceptable response to a political difference of opinion. Anyone saying they deplore his murder and following with the inevitable "but" is still justifying violence. Just my humble opinion.
