Do we really need this?

Since when does "need" come in to play?

I don't "need" 37 rifles that pretty much do the same thing, or a smart fridge that connects to wifi, or a wife that has more purses than days of the month.

But part of the fun is buying cool stuff, and if I had an extra $10k to drop (pun intended) on a bad *** toilet, I would get one

I have an outhouse on my hunting lease. It's really not too bad even in the hot summer and frigid winter. Lime and TIMING is the secret. Normally, I move around very slowly, but when that door closes behind me in the one-holer it's Speedy Gonzalas at his best.

I ,too, have used the shoes, flashlight and Sears catalog.

At my grandparent's house, there was no flashlight and no Sears catalog. But you'd better carry a stick with you to knock down the spider webs!

From an article on this year's IgNobel Awards:
"...this year's Ig Nobel prize for public health was awarded to researchers for the development of a smart toilet that uses various technologies to monitor human waste for signs of disease and an anal-print sensor as part of its system to identify the user."
Project code word: SHERLOCK - ADW ("Ailmentary, dear Watson")
