Do yo have an exercise regime?

3 days a week gym for an hour. Monday is pushing (bench, lumberjacks, shoulders). Wednesday is legs and back (squats, front squats, leg curls, stiff leg deadlift). Friday is pulling (curls, deadlift, bent row, one arm bent row, triceps). I throw in a few other exercises on those days too. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday I run. Or at least try to. I do sprints. 30 - 40 seconds of full force, full speed running followed by a min of fast jogging or running at a middium intensity. Do this for 30 min.

The problem is running. I despise running so keeping it consistent is a problem. The other 2 bigger problems is smoking and beer drinking.

Go downtown around 3am.If it's anything like when I lived back East there will be undesirables more than willing to chase you around a few city blocks. :D

After a 2 month hospital / rehab session this spring I am into exercise for the first time in my 68 years. I left rehab on May 22nd walking about 200 feet at a time using a walker.

I am now up to road walking generally a mile at a time most every day. Today I added a bit to make it to my MIL's house up the road. So today was my best effort at about 1 1/3 miles.

I also generally do about 35 - 40 minutes of leg and abdominal exercises to rebuild my leg and lower core strength. I've got a ways to go to get to where I want to be, but I'm getting there.

Kinda hard to fit the word REGIME around anything I do. I'm a pretty loosely structured guy. That's why I am reluctant to go out on a windy day. No tellin' where the wind would blow me to.

But just so as not to be totally devoid of ANY self discipline I do two things I don't want to do every day. I get up every morning and I go to bed every night. That's about all the regime I can handle. ;)

I have slacked off on my weight lifting but I bicycle to work everyday-on a 3 speed, about 6.5-7 miles, uphill for much of the Ride Home.

I've been debating on doing this part of the way to work. The first 1/2 of the trip I really can't bike since there is no bike lanes or even a shoulder and I don't wanna become roadkill cause some morning driver is putting on makeup or spilled his coffee. The second half I can bike. My idea was to strap the bike to the car and drive half way to a large parking lot and bike the rest of the way. Unfortunately days like today I'd get to work soaked like I just stood in the rain

At 74, with 5 back surgeries, and a bad knee I don't jog. I do however still walk, it's only about .75 miles before my knee starts screaming. I usually walk outdoors if weather permits or inside on the treadmill otherwise, and do this usually 5 days a week I also have a couple 10 lb weights I do 25 reps with in each of a couple different directions, curls and overhead, but I alternate the weights with a "blue" resistance band, (kind of like a 4" wide rubber band the Physical Therapist use). The each evening I exercise my right elbow lifting a scotch & water. At least once a week (or more) I shoot handguns and also once a week (or more) I shoot trap/skeet. I'm trying to get rid of that 40 lb weight I pack around all day (from my middle), but it's been a losing battle.

Always have and always will do something. Since I retired six years ago, I hit the gym 4-5 times a week plus play golf, ride my bike, hike and walk.
12 oz curls in the evenings.

I have slowed down a lot in the last year as I approach age 70. :o

But, I still manage to ride a bicycle several days a week and alternate with walks on the days that riding does not appeal to me.

We are lucky. Here in Arizona, there is always some part of the day when the temperature is comfortable.

Riding an easy 11 mile loop only takes about 45 minutes. We have wide shoulders on the streets that I ride most often.

Walking only requires an hour for the 3 mile loop and less than two hours for the 5 mile loop.

Both of these light exercise commitments allow plenty of time for naps. :D

Push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, Hindu squats and body weight calf presses every morning except Sunday.

Walk / run for 30 min to 1 hour three days a week (I don't care about distance traversed).

Weights and heavy bag three days a week.

Sunday's I rest... Unless I'm kayaking.

My feeling is, "it's taken 69 years to develope my body into peak condition" so there's no need to screw it up by jogging, walking or any other physical exercise!

I'm 47. I go to the gym four to five times a week. I like to mix it up. Swimming, rowing, elliptical machine, walking, calisthenics and some light weight lifting. Do things around the house as well - mainly yard-work. I don't smoke or use other tobacco products and I basically stopped drinking alcohol a couple years ago. I'm a cancer survivor now so that's extra motivation for me to watch myself.

I just got home from my trip to Anytime Fitness, I ride the one of the bikes for 15 to 20 minutes then start in on the weight machines. I ride my mountain bike on the local trail which starts about block from my house and I ride for 1 hour.

If someone is seeking the fountain of youth my advice is weight lifting. I did it most of my life and at 56 I still do it but just on the machines and with light weights. The machines get you in the proper range of motion and keep your joints strong and tendons flexible and one of the BEST machines is the lying hamstring machine and this will help keep you from getting back pain. I have been able to keep nearly all of my muscle, but you need to work on building muscle before you hit age 50 because after 50 it is pretty hard for most people to gain muscle. I see some older guys who are genetically gifted and look great even though they never work out but then one day all their muscle disappears and they look like a feeble old man. Loosing your muscle is losing your power and is basically the same thing as taking the V8 engine out of your vehicle and installing an economy car 4 cylinder engine.
