Me and my wife get out to two or three a year. We have The West Michigan Whitecaps, the Detroit Tigers single "A" affiliate.
We went out tonight and had a good time. I was standing in line to buy tickets and a guy came up and gave us two tickets. He had a few people not show for his company outing and didn't want them to go to waste.
We had hot dogs, nachos, and I can't leave without a soft pretzel.
Our team beat the Southbend Silver Hawks 3 to 1.
Less than five miles away and spent less than thirty bucks. I'd say a good way to spend a Saturday night.

My wife and I attend 5 or 6 Memphis Redbirds games a year (its a 100 mile drive from home, but all four lane). They are a AAA team of the St. Louis Cardinals. Auto Zone Stadium is one of the nicest minor league stadiums anywhere.

I used to go see the Phillies AAA team when they played here... about a 45 to 50 minute drive for me.

They moved a few years back, and now we have the Yankees AAA team.... I hate the Yankees.

I'll second that! Nice park; went there about five or six years ago, and had a ball. (no pun intended). I want to go see the Huntsville Stars sometime, or our own University of North Alabama Lions play. U.N.A. is not minor league, but I get the feeling it's great baseball nonetheless.

We have the York Revolution in a brand new park in York, PA.

The wife and I can go park, see a good ballgame, have a couple beers and eat a hotdog for less than the cost of one ticket to an Orioles game...and who wants to see the Orioles take a beating every night anyway?

The past couple of years I have visited the Peoria Chiefs once each season. My university has an alumni night. For $20 you get a ticket and all you can eat and drink. Starting June 1 we will have our own team, the Corn Belters, they are not affiliated with any major league team. I just bought 14 tickets for $90.00.

We live between Rochester & Buffalo. Both towns have triple A clubs and we go whenever we get a chance. As it turns out, My son took me and his mother to a game in Rochester on Friday night. We went to see the pitcher for the Bats ( Louisville ) by the name of Chapman. He was wooed by several of the major clubs, and ended up with Cincinnati. Oh my God did he get lit up. He was throwing in the low to mid 90's, but one the RedWing hitters go the timing down they were sending tham back to him at about twice what he was throwing. They took him out when it got to be 10 to 2.
Still .... a great night at the park with the family.

We root for the Nashville Sounds. On occasion, we also like to see the Sevierville Smokies, the Chattanooga Lookouts, and the Bowling Green Hot Rods. My sons are baseball fanatics. I'd much rather attend a minor league game as a major league game for many reasons. Little league takes priority over all of these, however.

When my dad was alive we used to go to Lakeland to watch the Tiger's AAA team there. I've been to several spring training games in Orlando when the Tigers came to play the Twins. When I was a kid growing up in Michigan we used to go to Tiger Stadium a few times a year. Al Kaline was my hero. My grandmother was a nurse in Detroit and met him when he was in the hospital and said he was one of the nicest people you could meet.

When I lived in NC we would take in a few Hickory Crawdads games.
I have NO interest in major league ball... but will go watch the minors whenever I can.

The wife and I attended a Clearwater Threshers vs. Dunedin Blue Jays baseball game last night in Clearwater, Florida, tickets were $13. and parking $2. It was a great time and also Armed Forces Appreciation Day, so there were a few military folks there to say hello to and thank them for their service to our country.
Minor league baseball is much more affordable for the young famlies with children that want to take the kids out to a ballgame.
We thought about going to a Tampa Bay Rays game but parking alone cost $30, let alone the ticket prices, food and drink!

We go to 3 or 4 Sacramento Rivercats games a year. They have a beautiful ballpark right on the river and lead all minor league teams in attendance for the past 4 years. They are the AAA affiliate of the Oakland A's. Last year we paid $11 a seat on the first base line, 5 rows from the field. Cheap fun and good baseball..until the A's get hurt and we lose our best players! Minor league ball.....

Tri-City Valley Cats, Troy, New York. New York Penn League Farm team for the Houston Astros. Great baseball for the family, eight dollars gets you one of the best seats in the house, and on the Fourth of July, there are fireworks..

It's been a while. One of the last games I went to, The Havana Cubans played the Rochester Red Wings. I don't remember who won.

I did live accross the main drag from the Manager of the Wings some years later. He lived in a rented house there with his family & had a little kid named Cal that used to tag along w/him all the time,,even to the ball park.
Once in a while we'd have an impromptu game in an empty church lot on the corner and we'd use junior to chase down the baseball if we missed it, which was quite often. Who Knew?!

No, but I watch the Tigers on TV, whenever I'm able to.

I went to one of their games in '79 or so at the old Briggs Stadium. I think I was about 9 years old, and that was a great experience! We had family up there, and I was born there, so we used to go back and visit about once a year. Someone suggested we go, and being 9 years old, I was all for it!

It's good to see so many of us get to the minor league parks.
We went to see the Detroit Tigers last year in Detroit at Comerica Park. Let me tell you I didn't like the drive down Woodward Ave. The people laying on the side walk were so out of it. You could just see the look in their eyes they weren't to be messed with. I have to go down there in the big truck for work some times but that is a whole different feeling than taking my family.
That is why I like the minor league team close to home and it's away from down town almost out in the woods.
