Do you carry more than one gun at a time?

No. I've never carried more than one gun at a time. For the last seventeen years it's been a .38 Special J-frame. It's enough for me to feel reasonably well-protected, especially since in old age and declining health I don't get out a lot.

Shucks....Who don't ;):D

One for the right, one for the left...

I don't always know which hand I'll have free in a fight.

Sometimes my second gun rides in the seat pocket of the pickup or my un-marked,
getting to that holstered sidearm while seat belted in can be a chore at times.

When I was humpin the hills with the gang eradi'n ol' MJ or jest doing a scout on a patch, maybe add a carbine.
Always carried two, most times my bug had snake shot in it, (Those CCI shot cartridges will cycle
through my 3" Colt Defender without a hitch.) When ya out in the tall and un-cut it pays off to be prepared.

They're just tools, each serves it's own purpose.

I tried to carry my model 60 in a boot holster, but it was uncomfortable and affected my stride. I changed to a Gerber Boot Knife, and carried it until I retired.

One gun only!

Having made it through 30.5 years of big city crime fighting and another 10 plus years of LEOSA enabled CCW, I NEVER, EVER HAD A NEED FOR A SECOND HANDGUN and simply cannot envision a scenario in which I would need one now...or in the future.

Be safe.

Yes, usually, to answer the original question.

no. nor do i carry an extra knife, 3 ways to start fire, 100 feet of para cord. rifle with 1000 rds of ammo in the trunk. if it's that bad of a area DON"T GO. ( please dont start telling me that your a 1st responder and have to. thats your job im not talking to you) on the other hand if it make you feel better/ safer, have at it.

Usually have one in an ankle rig due to how I dress at work.

I realize how slow an ankle gun can be so when situation allows I'll carry a second on the belt. For me it's just about quicker access not so much a need for a back up.

Having made it through fifty-some years of world travel and travel thoughout the States, I NEVER, EVER HAD A NEED FOR A FIRST HANDGUN. Do you think maybe I shouldn't carry one?

BTW, I can easily envision a scenario in which I might need a second handgun for the other hand.

That's what I call being safe.

I carry one (1) gun and a radio. In Philadelphia we have our own air support.

Back up gun

I carried a back up and it came in useful several times. Once during a shooting situation, my beretta 92, failed to work. I pulled my S&W air-weight, and started taking aim when the armed offender gave up. They make great small guns so there is really no reason not to could save your life.

Real life.

Let's just say I used one (1) handgun on hundreds of occasions...and it was ALWAYS sufficient.

Moreover, I have never experienced a non-intentional fail to fire or any mechanical malfunction that rendered the handgun in use at the time non-usable.

Be safe.

I remain quite comfortable with one defensive piece.
I do not encourage disaster by going in to known areas of trouble if I can avoid same.
I do carry different defensive pieces based upon where I am going to be. Forethought can be your friend with respect to avoidance or defense.
Thirty years ago I only felt the need to carry concealed when carrying large amounts of cash or valuables. Today I am compelled to carry 24/7. Sadly the world has changed. I want the old days back.

Nope. But if I had to spend any time in parts of the East Bay (Oakland, CA) at night I'd sure consider it.
